jay907uk
Hi, I'm unable to get WideFS to connect from my Network setup. This is the first time it's ever happened. The below error message is from my client pc, as I've not got showing in the modules folder for the logs. I have also noticed that when I ran P3Dv4 and I looked in the add on section FSUIPC wasn't showing in the menu option? I'm not sure if the info below is helpful. I've checked my P3D folders and there is nothing showing for me trying to get widefs to work so not sure If you require anything else. ********* WideClient Log [version 7.151] Class=FS98MAIN ********* Date (dmy): 10/05/19, Time 20:17:30.355: Client name is DESKTOP-BO9KFLJ 140 LUA: "D:\WideFS (P3Dv4)\Initial.LUA": not found 172 Attempting to connect now 172 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast 172 Failed to connect: waiting to try again 1187 Attempting to connect now 22640 Trying to locate server: Need details from Server Broadcast Thanks Jason
John Dowson
Hi Jason, if fsuipc isn't in the 'Add-ons' menu, it isn't running, If it isn't running, WideClient can't connect. You need to determine why FSUIPC is not running. Try downloading and running the latest installer. This should re-install FSUIPC and leave any settings you have. jay907uk
Hi John, Thanks for the reply, I did try installing the newer version even though I'm still running 4.4 but I then got the below message. Is it worth me installing the FSUIPC4 ? I know this is for previous versions? I did try reinstalling the Scenery.msi for P3Dv4 today could this be the cause of FSUIPC not showing anymore? This was due to me having some issues earlier today. Installer for FSUIPC5.DLL version 5.151 Looking in registry for Prepar3D v4 install path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Parameter"AppPath" Not there, so looking in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 Parameter"SetupPath" ... NOT found! ... ... NOT found! Asking user to find the .EXE instead ... Thanks Jason
jay907uk
John, Do you think it's worth me doing a complete re-install of P3Dv4 due to the issue with FSUIPC and the new version not working when I tried to install it? John Dowson
Hi Jason, re-installing the scenery should not affect FSUIPC, and the latest FSUIPC version should be ok with all P3D versions from 4.1 onwards. Is that the full install log ? Seems to be cut short, unless it can't find your P3D installation. If thats your full install log, then it seems that P3d isn't installed correctly. Try re-installing the client only, then re-install FSUIPC and attach the log here. Cheers, John
jay907uk
John, Apologises for another message. I've installed FSUIPC onto the P3D computer which this has worked and know widefs does seem to connect. I was installing it onto the client pc where I run all my addons from,. was this ok? Thanks Jason
John Dowson
Hi Jason, FSUIPC should be installed on your sim/P3D system only, and WideClient on the client pcs. Anyway, seems like you have it sorted now. Also, just fyi, WideFS is WideClient + WideServer. WideServer used to be a separate program, but it is now part of FSUIPC since FSUIPC5.
