PD1AKU Posted May 19, 2022 Report Posted May 19, 2022 Hello all, My hopes were pinned on the FSUIPC 7.3.4 released today to get my 737 Throttle Quadrant working on the PMDG 737-700 via MSFS2020. Now I've been biting myself all night, but none of the presets for the 737-700 work for me. I can see that the buttons are defined (eg Joy# D 11) but when I connect to "control sent when button pressed" from the PMDG preset series, nothing happens in the simulator. By the way, the most common presets work (such as the parking brake toggle). In SPAD.next I managed to link my TQ to the correct functions after adding the broadcast settings in the options.ini file. Perhaps a file has to be adapted for the functioning of the PMDG presets? Hopefully someone has the solution for me? Thanks in advance! Regards Edward.
John Dowson Posted May 20, 2022 Report Posted May 20, 2022 I am confused by your post. You say: 11 hours ago, PD1AKU said: but none of the presets for the 737-700 work for me but also: 11 hours ago, PD1AKU said: By the way, the most common presets work (such as the parking brake toggle). So some presets work for other aircraft, but non for the PMDG 737? If so, then it sounds like FSUIPC7 is functioning correctly and applying the preset calculator code, but if this has no affect then it is a problem with the calculator code, not FSUIPC7. Check the preset/calculator code on the MF hubhop preset list, and report any problems to MobiFlight. 11 hours ago, PD1AKU said: Perhaps a file has to be adapted for the functioning of the PMDG presets? FSUIPC is aircraft agnostic - you can apply any preset to any aircraft. There are no specific files (apart from those you create) for any aircraft. But there were no PMDG presets available for the PMDG in the events.txt file provided by FSUIPC7 until v7.3.4 (released yesterday). If not using this version, download and try that as it includes a more current MF events.txt file (from yesterday). 1
PD1AKU Posted May 20, 2022 Author Report Posted May 20, 2022 Hi Peter, Thank you for your quick response and sorry for the confusion. I meant to say that some general commands will work but the specific presets for the PMDG 737-700 will not. Where can I find the MF hub hop preset list? I am not familiar with Mobiflight but just downloaded it. What exactly should this function be?

They seem to be working for most folks...I cannot confirm as I do not have this aircraft at the moment... Quote Where can I find the MF hub hop preset list? See https://hubhop.mobiflight.com/. Please read the Advanced User Manual for information on presets and on how to use the WASM to access lvars, hvars etc. 4 minutes ago, PD1AKU said: I am not familiar with Mobiflight but just downloaded it. What exactly should this function be? You do not need to use MobiFlight to use presets. MF presets are included (in the events.txt file) with FSUIPC7 and they processed/applied using the FSUIPC7 WASM module. You can use the MFConnector.exe to download the latest events file and copy it to your FSUIPC7 installation folder if you wish (i.e. when there are new presets not in the one that is distributed with FSUIPC7), or you can just add any new preset manually to the events.txt file, or the myevents.txt file.
PD1AKU Posted May 20, 2022 Author Report Posted May 20, 2022 (edited) Hi John (sorry about that!), I'm going to study the advance user manual more closely. By the way, I noticed that no FSUIPC7.ini file is created in the installation file. I could only find a standard ini file in the documents folder which had a date before the installation (14/05). Unfortunately I can't enter the settings from the event.txt because it seems like this ini file is not used. FSUIPC7.ini Edited May 20, 2022 by PD1AKU

Make sure that it is not in a windows protected folder, such as under your Documents or Program Files folder. Also, check that it is not there but with the extension hidden - make sure that 'Hide extensions for known file types' is not checked in your Windows Explorer options. It should certainly be in your FSUIPC7 installation folder, alongside your FSUIPC7.log file, and is created the first time you run FSUIPC7.
PD1AKU Posted May 21, 2022 Author Report Posted May 21, 2022 The problem is solved! The solution was to define the parameters. By changing a number of parameters from 0 to 1 (and vice versa), I have now been able to connect the buttons. In addition, the settings are now also saved because I moved the installation folder. Thanks and keep up the good work! Regards Edward 1
borisvp Posted June 23, 2022 Report Posted June 23, 2022 Hi, I'd like to pick this up, since it was not so long ago. I have FSUIPC 7.3.6, all the PMDG events in the events.txt file, and none of it works. I tried changing the parameters, but no success. I don't use Mobiflight or anything else, just FSUIPC (and Linda, if it would work, which it doesn't either). FSUIPC is installed in my MSFS addons folder (which is H:\Addons\Tools, with H: being my MSFS drive) and linked via the Addons Linker. Normal sim functions, like flaps incr-decr or gear up-down, are working, though. Any help is appreciated 🙂 Regards Boris
John Dowson Posted June 23, 2022 Report Posted June 23, 2022 Have you enabled the WASM (Add-ons->WASM->Enable)? If not. do that. Afterwards, either restart FSUIPC or disconnect/reconnect from MSFS. 5 minutes ago, borisvp said: FSUIPC is installed in my MSFS addons folder (which is H:\Addons\Tools, with H: being my MSFS drive) and linked via the Addons Linker. This sounds strange... You should not use the MSFS add-on linker with FSUIPC - that is for managing Community add-ons, FSUIPC7 is not that... You can use it to manage the FSUIPC WASM module - but also not recommended. You ALWAYS need the FSUIPC WASM module in your Community folder if using lvars/hvars/presets with FSUIPC7. John
Uwajimaya Posted June 23, 2022 Report Posted June 23, 2022 I am experiencing the exact same issue: 1. I assigned several PMDG 737 presets to my Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo using "Select FS Control" 2. FSUIPC correctly shows the assignments when I trigger the buttons/switches. 3. Nothing happens in MSFS. (WASM is enabled and the WASM.ini is in ...Community\fsuipc-lvar-module) I set up a Honeycomb button to center my TrackIR - that one works, but it's not a Sim function. Appreciate any help! 1
Uwajimaya Posted June 24, 2022 Report Posted June 24, 2022 Well, of course this was going to happen. PMDG just released an update, and after installing it, all assignments suddenly work. Go figure.
borisvp Posted June 26, 2022 Report Posted June 26, 2022 I don't know what did the trick, but now it is working. Installing FSUIPC in a root folder, updating PMDG or - most likely - having missed to activate WASM in FSUIPC. And of course FSUIPC has nothing to do with the Addons Linker - it just sat in the folder where I have other community addons... Thanks for your support 🙂 Boris
