twflyer Posted May 22, 2022 Report Posted May 22, 2022 I’ve been using fsuipc4 (I believe it is) on my steam edition of Fsx for about 6 months. Suddenly I cannot find Fsx as a client on foreflight anymore and of course foreflight map does not recognize my position. It’s been a while, so I started thinking back how I had set it up, and I'm pretty sure I never had wideFS. And I can’t find the key now if I did. Steam had some update not too long ago…. I’m not on their beta. Never was. Tried reinstalling Fsuipc with no joy - obviously as I’m here now. Any suggestions? Andy

Sorry, but I so not understand your issue or what this has to do with FSUIPC4... 1 hour ago, twflyer said: so I started thinking back how I had set it up, and I'm pretty sure I never had wideFS. And I can’t find the key now if I did. WideFS is for use on a client PC, and all your licenses will be available from your SimMarket account. Is FSUIPC4 installed correctly? Can you access the FSUIPC4 main window from the add-ons menu? Can you please explain your issue, and if you are having problems with installation then show me your FSUIPC4 installation log file. If FSUIPC4 is installed and running, show me your FSUIPC4.log file. John
twflyer Posted May 23, 2022 Author Report Posted May 23, 2022 John, Thanks for the super-fast reply, and my apologies for a very marginal posting. It was very late night/early AM when I wrote that and it shows…. I’ll try to clarify. I run MS FSX on steam from a PC. The only feature I currently really need/use from FSUIPS4 was the ability to output a gps “signal” from FSX. I use a professional aviation digital FlightBag called “Foreflight”. Within the foreflight application I should be able to connect to the GPS flight data sent out via FSUIPC4 and have my sim session “live” on my moving map - which I believe is a normal use..? that option, to connect to FSX, no longer exists on the page in foreflight that it used to. (That would be the “Devices” page in Foreflight. It now says “ No supported devices connected”. The “device” would be FSUIPC4/FSX”). So I have no moving map overlay of my flight For the 4 months or so that I’ve used Steam/FSX/FSUIPC4 it has worked flawlessly. Suddenly that interface option has just disappeared. I haven’t changed anything that I’m aware of. Yes I can access the add-ons menu from FSX and FSUIPC4, so it was incorrect to say it no longer works, it’s just the one feature that is somehow locked out. It also shows my account active and the boxes are still checked that show GPSout as enabled. I’ve attached the log file of my re-install, and a portion of the last flight I just took. The entire log won’t fit due the the 20kb size limit. so I just gave you the first 1/4 or so. Hope this is more clear. Andy FSUIPC4 Install.log text.txt

As FSUIPC4 is installed and running correctly, I don't see how I can help - you need Foreflight support really... Your log is large as you have logging of IPC Reads/Writes activated - turn that off.
