Stopping wideclient

Recommended Posts

Hello Mr. Dowson,

I am François and we have been using your applications for more than 20 years on our 737 cockpit (www.737project.com)

So thank you for your work.

Our simulator works with 3 PCs under P3D V4. We have a problem that we cannot solve with the communication via WideClient with one of the remote PCs.

The problem, after launching P3D Wideclient connects and the applications (sioc...) start the dialogue only, after a few seconds (15 to 20), Wideclient closes on its own without any message.

No message in the logs of WideClient either. The only message I found is in Windows events, I copy it following this message.

I hope you will be able to give us a idea, because we have removed the antivirus, put back a clean version of Wideclient and we can't find any other idea.

Thank you for your help

Francois.

Good morning,

Sorry for the delay but we are still investigating the problem.
I will update windows manually because automatic updates are blocked on our PCs.

Can you tell me who error 110 is ?

I use the SDK and before closing WIdeclient returns me the frame " FSUIPC 110: FSUIPC_ERR_SENMSG "?

Thank

That will be a windows error code:

ERROR_OPEN_FAILED

110 (0x6E)

The system cannot open the device or file specified.

As well as updating windows, make sure that you are running everything at the same privilege level.

hello peter
We updated all the pc (4) and checked the administrator rights for the account and for launching the applications, but we still have the same problem.
To give you more explanations, the PCs are switched on and all the "WideClient" applications are launched except P3D.

After launching P3D, the "WideClient" of the problem PC connects and launches the applications (SIOC, Bousole, OVH Server, IFLY).

The OVH IFLY server is an application that I developed (C++) which, at launch, scans the inputs and updates the outputs of the OVH and AFT part.
For IFLY, it's easy, it's always the same OFFSET, only the value changes.

All of these actions are queued. As soon as I have the information of the SDK (FSUIPC) connected, I send the actions of the queue.
So far, everything is going normally. Except that after all the data is sent and around 20 seconds "WideClient" closes without stopping the applications it has launched.

I also looked at the CPU load for "WideClient" which sometimes increases and sometimes there is the message in the application bar that the application is not responding.

On the "WideServer" side, we can clearly see in the log that the client no longer responds.

Side of my application I have this error 110

In this photo we see my application in the background and Wide with the message the application is not responding.

We updated all the pc (4)

Did you also update your VC++ redistibutables? If not, please also do that. Download and install the latest combined 2015, 2017, 2019 & 2022 x86 and x64 packages from  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist and make sure that you install any of the individual packages already installed before installing.

In this photo we see my application in the background and Wide with the message the application is not responding.

I really can't see anything in that....

The logs of Wide server :

Could you please attach log files, rather than pasting the contents.

It looks like you are also using FSUIPC 5.156 - the latest and only supported version is 5.157 - can you please update.

Can you also try removing each one of the wideclient applications running on the problem PC one at a time, to determine if it is one of those causing the issue. Maybe also try moving those clients to another client PC, to see if the issue occurs there.

Are you still getting a crash or any error events in the windows event log on the client PC with the issues?
