Ed-B Posted March 16, 2023 Report Posted March 16, 2023 Hi Everyone I am a MSFS2020 user based in the UK. I have recently updated my hardware to a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog throttle and joystick. And this is where my problems started. Both devices are connected to my Dell PC via USB 2.0 ports. The Microsoft Windows 11 'Setup USB Game Controllers' software sees the hardware, recognises it and calibrates the hardware correctly. When running MSFS2020, the joystick works correctly but the throttle does not. The throttle is recognised by MSFS2020 as a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog throttle however, when in the sim itself, if I move the throttle forward and view the throttle on the Cessna's dash. it moves in and out, stutters and moves all over the place. I have spent hours and hours trying to recalibrate the throttle within MSFS2020 but, whatever I do, the throttle still fails to operate properly. I have followed other simmers advice and made sure that I have assigned the throttle to Throttle 1 Axis and Throttle 2 Axis rather than Throttle 1 Axis (0 to 100%) and Throttle 2 Axis (0 to 100%) but the throttle still fails to operate correctly. This evening (16 March 2023) a fellow simmer suggested I look at FSUIPC. I am sorry to say that I haven't heard of the package before but he suggested I might use FSUIPC to get the throttle to work correctly with MSFS2020. Before I make the purchase, could anyone please offer any advice ? Could FSUIPC help and if so, could someone point me to a readme / FAQ that shows me what I would need to do to see if it could solve this throttle issue. I am getting pretty desperate as it is clear that I cannot resolve this issue myself and having spent an absolute fortune on the Thrustmaster hardware, I would really like to see it operate well in MSFS2020 and also DCS and IL2 if possible. Can anyone offer some advice please ? Many thanks in advance (and advanced apologies if this question has been asked previously) Ed

Just download it (from FSUIPC7 v7.3.18) and try it - an trial license is available here: See the User manual and how to assign and calibrate, and make sure you have removed any assignments in MSFS - best to create a new empty profile for the device in MSFS, although you can gave some assignments in MSFS and others in FSUIPC if you like. If you have any issues, first check/search this forum for any possible solutions (most questions have been asked before!), but if you can't find anything relevant then post again and I can help. John
Ed-B Posted March 17, 2023 Author Report Posted March 17, 2023 Hi John, thanks so much for getting back to me, I will download the package and apply the trial registration number and give it a go, all the best, Ed
Ed-B Posted March 17, 2023 Author Report Posted March 17, 2023 Hi John, I am travelling down to Sussex for a few days holiday and am taking the FSUIPC files with me on a laptop so that I can gen up on your system I hope you don't mind a very quick follow-up question. I mainly use MSFS2020 and FSUIPC7 works well with this sim. I also use IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles, DCS and IL-2 Sturmovik Desert Wings – TOBRUK. Would FSUIPC also work with those flight sims ? Kind regards, Ed

Would FSUIPC also work with those flight sims ? No - FSUIPC7 is for MSFS2020 only. There are other versions for FSX (FSUIPC4) and P3Dv4 & 5 (FSUIPC6). John
Red Rabbit Posted April 2, 2023 Report Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) It seems that this problem is widespread. After researching the net for hours and hours I found an advice to use FSUIPC v. 4. for FSX. Now here is my problem: Installed FSX/ Acc.( DVD Version) on a clean SSD with windows 10 64Bit. Installation without any problem, even registration worked. (PartMgr problem in Reg. was corrected before.) MS Sidewinder FFB pro with LUFA interface , that I used for years with FS9 and worked just fine, could be calibrated with all axes including throttle and all buttons. FSX sees all axes and programmed buttons, but does not see the throttle. An here it comes, my registered version of FSUIPC v 4.9 for FSX does not read the throttle either. I can not make it read the values. Could you give me an advice please, where to look and what to look for, because using F1-F4 is not very practible, you never know where the lever is. What problem are you referring to? 3 hours ago, Red Rabbit said: Installed FSX/ Acc.( DVD Version) Not sure what that version is, but always a good idea to check and install the patches if applicable - SP1 and SP2, if they are not included in the DVD version. 3 hours ago, Red Rabbit said: An here it comes, my registered version of FSUIPC v 4.9 for FSX does not read the throttle either. So, your issue is that your throttle axis is nit recognised? Can this be seen in FSX? Can you please show me your FSUIPC4.log and FSUIPC4.ini files.
