Installer Corrupted: invalid opcode - Error Code

I have moved your post to the FSUIPC7 support forum.

There is nothing wrong with the installer. Try downloading the latest version (7.5.1) from fsuipc.com and try again.

I also tried opening it in a folder that is within a secured windows folder like Program Files or Program Files (x86)

You should not do this, and also you should not install FSUIPC7 in such folders. Just unzip and run the installer from your Downloads folder.

I also tried that, I installed the newest version you have and yet the same.

If you get errors running the installer, it is usually due to not having the correct VC++ redistributables installed. See either the README.txt or the Installation and Registration document which both contain details on how to update these.

hello, maybe give the steps you do, start again from the beginning that is to say return to fsuipc.com and say what you do from the example
1 I download ........
2 I unzip the file ......
3 .....
then we will be able to know what you do, and if you comment an error in the installation.

I am sorry but there is nothing wrong with the installer - this is a specific issue to your system. I have no idea why you are getting this error. If you are extracting the exe from the zip before running it, and have the correct VC++ redistributables installed, then the installer should work. If not, there is something strange in your system and i do nor know what to advise for this error.
Does this occur as soon as you start / double-click the installer exe?

I could provide you with separate folders to install manually, but you should try to determine what is causing this issue.
Are you using OneDrive or any other cloud service? If so, maybe try disabling that, and check your environment variables are set correctly.
When you start the installer, do you first see the User Account control box where you give permissions for the installer to make changes to your device?
If not, does your account have admin privileges?

@John Dowson  Hello again, tried everything, but not working. The error occurs on the start of the setup wizard - Launch it, click next, then the error occurs, it does ask me to make changes on my device but I am not sure how to get the admin privileges on my pc, I am pretty sure I have some but don't know how to confirm it. I would prefer then sharing the manual installation file, and if that would not work we could troubleshoot more if that's fine with you.

Thanks

It really helps if you can be more specific about what actually happens.
What should happen straight away after starting the installer is that a windows box should appear asking if the application (from an unknown publisher) can make changes to your system. You should then click Yes, which then gives the installer elevated privileges and starts the installer. Then, it shows the welcome page, you cluck Next and if you have both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 installed, it should show a screen that allows you to select the version, otherwise it goes to the license agreement page.
What do you see? What versions of MSFS do you have installed, and are they via Steam or MS Store?

Yes, the box appears and I say yes, after that the welcome box of the setup wizard appears, I click next and then i get the error, if I press OK i can proceed with the installation but the software does not install then so it is completely useless. I use MSFS2020 from steam.

What actually happens when you proceed? Is an InstallFSUIPC7.log file created, and if so can you please attach it.

Do you have a UserCfg.opt file under:  %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\UserCfg.opt?
If not, where is this file located? In that file, what is the setting of the InstalledPackagesPath variable at the end of the file?
Is your APPDATA environment variable set correctly?

Hello, issue is now resolved by adding admin rights as you said, I needed to be full administrator for this to work normally, I did not know what you meant by it but now I did watch a few videos and I understand it now, my apologies for this incovnienece and thank you very much for your very kind helpfulness. I wish you a pleasant day.

Thank you very much

Thanks for the update. Previously windows would ask for a new username/password if the account couldn't be elevated correctly so this behavior must be relatively new... I will add a section in the Installation guide about this issue.

Anyway, glad its now working! Regards,

John

I am also having this issue and I have gone through all of the steps listed above. I just installed a fresh version of windows 11. I installed Steam MSFS 2020. I installed all of the most revent VC++ distributable files and then attempted to install FSUIPC7 for MSFS 2020. When I start the installer and give permission for it to install, I get the Invalid OPCODE error. I am the only user on this computer and have full admin rights. I still cannot get the installer to work. I am hoping that you have another option/correction.

I have installed no other programs and have made no other modifications to windows 11. I am not able to get to any screens prior to this error popping up past the install permission screen. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You need to install the latest combined distributables, i.e. for 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022, not necessarily the most recent. And please install both x86 and x64 versions.

The only reason I know of for this error is due to the account being used being unable to be elevated to full admin rights, so please double check this.
Also make sure that
   - you are not running the installer from within the zip file - it needs to be extracted first
   - your windows environment variables are set-up correctly, especially APPDIR and TMPDIR
   - you are not trying to install into a protected folder
