ReelSalty Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 Hello all, after 2900+ hours logged with FsHub via Landing Rate Monitor, all of a sudden I cannot log flights in 2020. MSFS2024 has worked but not 2020. I have reached out to FsHub/LRM support and they suggested I post here. I would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance! FSUIPC is updated to the lasted version. Both LRM and FSUIPC state "connected" when in 2020. Attached is my recent 2024 flight that logged correctly, and 2020 flight log. I open both 20 and 24 the same exact way. Please let me know if there's anymore information you would like/need. message.txt message (2).txt message (1).txt
John Dowson Posted Monday at 08:37 AM Report Posted Monday at 08:37 AM Oh, they are FSUIPC7 log files - please do not rename them! One for MSFS2024 shows FSUIPC connected and working properly, the other for MSFS2024 shows also connected and working, but attached when FSUIPC7 was still running - not sure why you attached that. You should always exit FSUIPC7 before attaching files. The "message (2).txt" file shows issues with FSUIPC7 connecting to MSFS2020. What you need to do is to tune the start-up parameters. As you are using the same FSUIPC7 installation for both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, you will need to tune these to the one that takes the longest (MSFS2020) and then fix them so that they are not changed by MSFS2024. See the following FAQ entry for details (or check the FSUIPC7 Advanced User manual, which has further details): Strat by setting/changing the following ini parameter in the [General] section of your FSUIPC7.ini file: InitialStallTime=0 StartUpTuningDoneVersion=-1 DetectToConnectDelayAuto=60 The first entry will instruct FSUIPC to wait indefinitely for the first connection attempt and not time-out. The second will disable auto-tuning so these parameters will not be changed again by FSUIPC. The third parameter is the delay between when FSUIPC7 detects MSFS running and when it tries to connect, and it is this that you will need to adjust for your system, Try with 60, but time the period between when you see the FSUIPC7 splash-screen and when MSFS2020 arrives at the main menu, and then set this parameter to that time. John
ReelSalty Posted Tuesday at 01:50 PM Author Report Posted Tuesday at 01:50 PM Thank you for your feedback John. I think I might have uploaded those files wrong to this fourm, sorry about that! I did all the suggested fixes, but DetectToConnectDelayAuto doesn't seem to be changing for me. I adjusted it to 60 then FSUIPC would open at the 1min20 min mark. After about 5 times reloading the sim, saving the log file, and ajusting, I have set DetectToConnectDelayAuto=420 and it doesn't seem to delaying the program from opening- even though on average it takes 4min25seconds for MSFS2020 to open to main menu. Thanks for your help!

I think you are misunderstanding this parameter. It does not change when FSUIPC starts - that is determined by MSFS when using auto-start. It is the time from when it starts to when it tries to connect. Please don't attach images - they are useless to me. Any issues/questions, attach your FSUIPC7.log and FSUIPC7.ini files. The former will tell you the parameters used and when it tries to connect, so look at that and check that before posting. John

Eduardo P Posted Thursday at 11:59 AM Report Posted Thursday at 11:59 AM Hello, John Reading this topic I verified that you posted this: Strat by setting/changing the following ini parameter in the [General] section of your FSUIPC7.ini file: InitialStallTime=0 StartUpTuningDoneVersion=-1 DetectToConnectDelayAuto=60 The first entry will instruct FSUIPC to wait indefinitely for the first connection attempt and not time-out. John I haven't these lines in my FSUIPC.ini FSUIPC7.ini InstallFSUIPC7.log

Do not set those parameters unless you really need to (and those are for the OPs system and may not be valid/work for your system). Better to read the documentation and follow the advice there - see the section Auto-tuning of initial start-up ini parameters on page 11 of the Advanced User guide. John

Your installation log shows that you installed the latest version - I am not sure why your ini file does not show that old version. Have you ran it yet? And why are you posting in this topic anyway - do you actually have any connection issues? If so, read the documentation and follow the advice. Then only post if you still have issues, and attach both your .ini and .log files. John
Eduardo P Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Since it seemed that my FSUIPC wasn't working (it didn't shown in taskbar) I tried to understand what could be the issue and this topic gave me some tips. There was an error message in my MSFS2020.EXE.xml and after verifying it, compared MSFS2020.EXE.backup.xml this one seemed ok with MSFS2024.EXE and they had the same structure so I posted my doubt here and after reading the config parameters I thought it maybe should be done but they weren't in FSUIPC7.ini. Now everything seems to work properly and I'm very sorry if some of my questions seem dumb. Anyway tks for help.
John Dowson Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago No problem - thanks for the update. For future reference, any issues with the auto-start not working, see John
