event.key() question

I have a Lua script that makes use of the code event.key(13, 0, "keyPressed") to detect the CR (ENTER) key. The script works in FS2024, but not in FS2020. I am using the exact same script in both sims. It seems something in FS2020 might be trapping the ENTER key so it is not seen by the lua script. There are no control bindings assigned to ENTER. Using an empty Community folder or different aircraft does not help. Based on your MS2020 experience do you have any ideas on what the issue might be?

Thank you John!  Beta 7.5.4a works with ENTER key in both FS2020 and FS2024.
