Hi

I am using MSFS2020 and  own the cowansim Md500e but I am having problems assigning the cyclic inputs via fsuipc. Back in the fsx days I would assign the cyclic the aileron and elevator untick enable controllers and everything was fine.

Reading through the cowansin pdf manual it says

Cyclic Stick: You can use the default aileron and elevator axis for the cyclic, but it is recommended to use the provided SET CYCLIC LONGITUDINAL & LATERAL AXIS.

I have set the cyclic to aileron and elevator in fsuipc and  send to fsuipc direct calibration but the control are not responding.

I can assign the controls via the MSFS2020 control options but it is so clunky to use the interface.

Cheers

Has something to do with the SAS autopilot helicopter system implemented in the new update of the Cowan copters.  I cannot get FSUIPC cyclic axis to work.  Using msfs2020 control settings works fine.

Did you try the Axis Cyclic Lateral/Longitudinal Set controls? Also maybe check for any relevant Input Events.

So the Axis Cyclic Lateral/Longitudinal Set controls don't work?
Check for any relevant Input Events or Lvars.

Hi

Thanks for the replies

So the Axis Cyclic Lateral/Longitudinal Set controls don't work?

Yes tried that and they don't work. The pedals and throttle (collective) work in fsuipc just not the cyclic. in the log it does show the control events  So I have gone back to using  MSFS2020 setup for the cyclic. I have include a zip file as the log file exceeded 4.88 MB

Nervac have you noticed with the MD that if you start at  parking spot with the engines off that the red fuel valve and the ignition car are in the on position ?

If these controls don't work when assigned externally, this should be reported and fixed by Cowansim.

There are a couple of input events, that way work, but I am not sure they are the same (I am not that familiar with helicopter controls):

Quote

    79594 11620 InputEvent found: 'COWANSIM_CONTROLS_Main_Rotor_Pitch' with hash=4457688885668615655 [type=0]
    79594 11620 InputEvent found: 'COWANSIM_CONTROLS_Main_Rotor_Bank' with hash=15500769668118500625 [type=0]

If those are the same as the cyclic lat/long controls, you could maybe try those, but I suspect they are different and you will have to assign in MSFS until this is fixed by Cowansim.

Best to tag a user for a direct question, e.g. @Nevarc ?

Thanks John

I have reverted back to an earlier version which accepts fsuipc to assign cyclic controls via aileron elevator and also axis cyclic longitudinal and lateral

I posted a bug report regarding the cyclic issue.
