I promise i wasnt imagining it !
  2. I did not program buttons in previous versions of fsuipc. This is the only button i program with fsuipc (the Saitek x52 has its own programming software which I use for all other button assignments...replicating the standard FS9 key strokes) I will try tonight to assign again, and will send you the before/after INI files
  3. Pete I am using fsuipc 3.707 with a saitek x52 joystick. I have "short aircraft name ok=Yes" I am able to calibrate the joystick axes "Aircraft specific" for all my a/c. But I have a problem with Button programming. With the default cessna 172 or 182, I use the joystick's throttle-positioned pov hat switch and assign it (using "buttons + switches" tab) to "Ap Alt Var inc" ( and "dec") using the "select for FS control" drop-down menu. I then select "control to repeat when held". I dont use a parameter, or list a control sent when released. This works fine. so that the hat switch works like a rocker to increase or decrease the a/p altitude setting. However, when I switch between the 172/182, or close FS9 and re-start... the button is no longer assigned. All the axes assignments are remembered however.
  4. Pete Yes i am using a saitek joystick with twist for rudder. Auto-rudder is always off in FS9 settings. I will try to perfect the aileron technique. Thank you for your help.
  5. Pete Thanks for reply. sorry i should have been clearer. refering to the default cessna on a take off run with 8 kts sidewind. I turn into the wind to keep straight, but this qickly develops into "oversteer"... the correction to this results in a wind-induced oversteer the other way. So i zig-zag my way down the runway till airborne. I am using a joystick so i guess the answer is to go for pedals.
  6. Pete In calibrating the rudder, i first set the sensitivities in FS( to minimum null zone/maximum sensitivity. Then used FSUIPC to calibrate, and added some slope to give less sensitivity to the initial twist of the joystick. I still find however that the rudder is difficult to control accurately ( mainly on the ground). Is it sensible to now lower the sensitivity setting (after having calibrated with FSUIPC) within FS9 settings, or am I then defeating the object of using FSUIPC in the first place? Many thanks for your help.
