You need to understand the differences between ICAO codes (used for the technical aspects of airline operations), IATA codes (used to identify an airline for commercial purposes), callsigns (with that I mean the telephony designators) and airline (or operator) names.

Using your first entry as an example:
    "tcx Textrol KESTREL"

"TCX" is the ICAO code with the telephony designator "KESTREL". This entry is included below, with the IATA code "MT" and the airline name "Thomas Cook Airlines". The same applies to the other entries.

If you took a look at a flight ticket, you might see that it is for example for flight UA 419. UA (IATA) then stands for the operator (United Airlines) and 419 is the flight number.
An air traffic controller will most likely have UAL419 as callsign on his/her screen. UAL (ICAO) and 419 as flight identification number. (The flight identification may but does not have to match the flight number.)
ATC will then call the flight with the telephony designator (gernally referred to as callsign) + identification number. Here: UNITED 419

    Thanks for clarification

I assume you are taking about @Pedantic G's master list. The list has Joe's stamp of approval so I'm sure it's correct. What is exactly missing/different from your version?

I added to the list the airline codes and the names i can make out via the audio most of these airlines were not in the original list

In Tower!2011, FeelThere provided a "manual" for some of their releases. The directions of flow for taxiways A  and B were in included in the manual.

For Tower!3D Pro there is no documentation provided for any of the airports, so it's trial and error and word of mouth. Also, it doesn't hurt to listen to real world controllers via LiveATC.Net.

    Thanks

  4. why when landing 31R and give taxi instructions for American to go to terminal it takes the longest route, it does not make any sense and i realize A and B taxi way goes all the way around the airport so there has to be a way to indicate north taxi or south taxi to the gate.

Also when giving instructions for delta to taxi to 31L it always takes B to J, where A becomes J and it wont comply with the instruction of A to J

This is very frustrating and not realistic at all

  5. I guess my issue is it would have been nice while landed aircraft is given instructions for example off of 25L to taxi to terminal via H M B C6 then while taxing between the runways on H and and prior to stopping on M short of 25R is given clearance to continue taxi the aircraft reads back BUT still stops short of the runway why cant the aircraft while taxing and reads back the clearance continues to cross 25R WHY stop short even though i have cleared to continue taxi.  this is the issue i have, i guess thats how the program is written.  thanks for all the posts.

You have to give the HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY/TAXIWAY XX command to each aircraft if you want it to cross the runway without stopping.

Normally,  if they are taxiing on taxiway Hotel, and their route to the terminal is H M B, they will stop at Runway 25R.  You will then have to give a "CONTINUE TAXI" clearance to get them across.

If you want them to cross 25R without stopping, then you need to say "HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY 24L" prior to them stopping at the hold short line for 25R.  They will then keep rolling.

Make sense?  A bit weird, I know, but that's how you do it.  I wish I could remember who I saw post this a long time ago.  Credit goes to them!

    Thanks for the info

  7. so just to make sure i understand, if i give command to taxi to terminal from lets say Z off of 24R they will cross 24L, but if i say taxi to terminal VIA Z E D8 then they will hold short of 24L, as you suggested give second command to hold short of 24L, my issue is there is too many commands being used, i was hoping while the aircraft exit Z and i gave instructions to taxi via Z E and while taxing i give command taxi to terminal the aircraft wont stop at 24L

The way you suggested if aircraft is departing intersecting runway it could be an issue just to give taxi to terminal command.  i hope i am making sense.  here is another thought

several aircrafts are holding short of 25R at M when i give United 1234 instructions to cross american 1234 is behind them and it moves up to the hold short line of 25R, before american 1234 reaches the hold line and i give instructions to cross it wont it still stops then i have to give the command again to cross, or i need to wait till it get to the hold short line then give instructions.

  8. is there a way you can give permission to cross runways, for example runway 25L at LAX after landing aircraft and i give instruction to taxi via H M B i do realize the aircraft stops short of the runway 25R is there a way to give clearance to allow the aircraft NOT to stop and continue taxi across?

    Thanks

  9. Ok so i give clearance for aircraft to taxi to RWY 31 in route i instruct the aircraft to hold short taxiway Z the when i give command to continue taxi the aircraft taxi's onto the runway, they should never go onto the runway unless specifically instructed to. could some one clarify if this is glitch and this is the way program is written?

    Thanks

  10. without turning off the reflections i ran the sim 3 other times and after the 3rd freeze and restart no freezing so far, i will turn off the reflections if it freezes again and update here.  thanks

also is it possible to have sub categories for each airport for example

    Atc Simulator

          KLGA

                  Issues

                  Suggestions

                  Etc

this way i can look at the specific airport and see if issues that has been reported (just a suggestion) Thanks

  11. when i play KLGA 7 am time frame with 100% traffic and forecast stormy landing rwy 22 departing 31 the sim freezes and does not respond, it seems it happens only with stormy conditions?  Any ideas?

    Thanks

  12. Another anomaly, taking off rwy 13 landing 22 i clear aircraft for take off on 13 and as the plane passes L high speed and aircraft lands on 22 and cross 13 i get penalized 500 points.  it does not make any sense there is no way that can be considered a incursion, please look into that as well.  thanks 😱

    Good thoughts.

The slow taxiing/exiting has been discussed ad nauseam and is very prevalent at various airports -  KSFO being another obvious one. Landing distances have been discussed too - the problem now though if you adjust it for KLGA, everyone will exit at G when landing on 25R at KLAX.

Since development on Tower!3D Pro is complete, we'll have to wait for the next version to possibly see enhancements like you suggest.

But until then, we'll have to wait and see the "successfully landed" message before giving take-off clearance on crossing runways.

Thanks for clarification looking forward to future updates👍

  14. Just downloaded KLGA, as always nice simulator to the developer, BUT as a Major Airline Pilot who flies to KLGA there are unrealistic scenarios, for example when we are using runway 31 for landing and 4 for departure, tower clears aircraft on 4 for take off as soon as the airplane reads back exit instructions and tower see's that the aircraft has slowed down and assures exit off of 31 otherwise you never get airborne with all the landing traffic, my point is when i give command for aircraft to exit taxiway J all the regionals refuse it due to lack of distance, realistically even B737-800 can exit J (have landed and exited J plenty of times) so and RJ not being able to exit J creates a lot of unnecessary delays for runway 4.

I notice the speed of deceleration is good enough for them to exit J taxiway as a matter of fact they pass J at what it seems like very slow speed and no excuse not to be able to take J high speed

if i clear an aircraft for TO and landing AC is still on the runway and about to exit T i get penalized i think the program should be able to see that if the aircraft is slow enough to exit T but still on the runway no penalties are given for TO clearance off of 4

My suggestion would be to allow airplanes to exit J or some programming change where even on the runway but about to exit TO clearance does not penalized.  Off course you could say land 13 and TO 4 which work well but all scenarios should be able to work.

    JUST A THOUGHT.

    Thanks

  15. if you look at my output log, i instructed N484JM to exit at C6 and read back the instructions but after landing exited B6, is this something that is going to be fixed in the future?  with one runway and not complying with instructions makes it difficult to taxi airplanes to the north side.

    Thanks

    @DeltaVII @B737max

After being on the forum a few years I've learned a couple of things:

    • If you have an issue that is not specifically related to the original topic (i.e., SAN issues), it needs to be posted in a separate topic
    • If you want an issue to be addressed, include a log and/or screenshot.

    Absolutely correct sorry
