  1. Hi Garry ! Thanks.... for keeping the fireplace burning. Life tends to throw curve balls at us from time to time. So be it, I'm still around indeed  Hopefully with some more time early next year to pick up where I left off last February, when I made some inroads with my Sketchup doodling !

  2. The answer to EMathesson is : I am TRYING! :???:

Unfortunately 2011 has been a disastrous year for me. You will have noticed my absence from the Emma Field forum (and elsewhere). I had not one but THREE computer crashes, and 3 backup disk crashes to go in between them. Statistically it is impossible. But it happened to me.

Add to that my total lack of time from further learning modeling, due to trying to stay afloat financially and working around the clock 7 days a week..... that sort of put Emma Field further behind in the planning. Real life interferes once again.

But, giving up is not in my vocabulary...... and I resisted the offer from Aerosoft to buy the Emma Field brand from me.

  3. Its been awhile but you guys have been on my mind the whole time....Long sickness and no computor!!

Brewster is around somewhere but havent seen him for a while...Think he is in a sea gull comune around Lilliwaup.

Gary I have missed our long talks on the phone..

Will try to get my old computer running again and find your advice again.....

    Cecil

Hi Cecil, good to 'have you back'

  4. Hi all,

No, it is not intentional. Although I have to tell you that my funds have long been depleted and only 3 or 4 individuals loyally donate a few $'s every year to support me.

The FSHost session runs on a server that for some reason is 'restarted' from time to time, thereby killing all running processes.I have long been battling the ISP over this, but to no avail.

I ALSO do NOT have enough time anymore to visit here regularly..... the economic crisis has hit pretty hard and I have to divide my attention between 'hobby', FS work and other ways of making a living. Not complaining, just explaining.

SO..... if you want to draw my attention regarding the server, then PLEASE use the DEDICATED FORUM for that on the FSAddon website. THAT is where I look many times a day now that I have left simFlight.

The SERVICES PAGE is still there as before, but the links got changed after restoring from the hackers last year.

Services page can be found here: http://fsaddon.eu/wpfsaddon/?page_id=7

I'll have a look to see what seems to be the trouble THIS TIME around..... *sigh*.... I wish I could run my own server and Internet connection, that would solve a lot of these problems !

Oh, and if you DO have a few bucks laying around and use my server, then HERE is the PLACE TO DONATE...... That would REALLY REALLY help us a lot. Thank you !

  5. Thanks for your kind support, folks.

And I'll take all the help I can get, once ready to open up.

But first...... going to visit the REAL Emma Field once more in October. We'll be leaving on our next US trip soon. (Again) partly business, mostly pleasure... visiting Fantasy of Flight for a photos shoot of our next FSX aircraft, flying to Alaska (YES!!!), and IN Alaska, visiting Misty Fjords for real, then flying down for a few weeks in California.....

Fritz is goin' flyin' ! :-)

  6. .... elsewhere.

Yup, that's right. I am totally overwhelmed by all the phony registrations on the (Joomla powered) Emma Field website and will close it down soon for that reason. Already took off the registration and log-in form.

The forum will probably ALSO be moved (read: set up new), because I am no longer Admin here at simFlight..... and being a control freak, I like to be in control :)

I was in the process of building an entirely new site months ago, before I got sidetracked by having to keep my business alive, and will continue building that site.

Still no news from Bill regarding any progress on Emma Field X. He's been traveling himself and I imagine he hasn't been able to spend much time on it.

And to some of the customers who get very upset by NOT having the X-version on their disks yet: sorry, but for you it is just a nice to have. For me personally, it is much more than that. So there.

I am still determined to get 'a' Emma Field X published at some time, even though Andras Field will open a subsidiary in the US as well. I sank more than 7 years of my time into it AND a fair amount of money.

Mathijs and Andras took the Emma Field concept and continued very successfully on it. Congrats to them. But we don't want them to rake in ALL the money, now do we??

I'll keep you posted on further developments.

    Yours,

    Fritzois
