  1. Many thanks Pete. Added the extra two button presses in FSUIPC and changed the second KeySend1 & keySend2 to 3 & 4 and Teamspeak voice activation works.woo hoo! Haven't tried SB yet but if it doesn't work I'm sure I can figure it out. Thanks once again. Dave
  2. Hi Pete, I currently have a joystick button assigned as PTT for SB using the 'PTT Transmit On'control, SB is on a second PC with widefs. I also have Teamspeak 3 installed on that second PC and wish to use the same button as the SB one to activate TS voice. Using the 'PTT Transmit..' control does not activate Teamspeak voice but works OK for SB. Teamspeak, like SB, allows you to assign a keypress to activate voice so, does the 'PTT Transmit' control send a keypress to widefs and if so what keypress? That way I could assign that key to Teamspeak. Alternately can I assign 'keypress' to my joystick button and then have 2 lots of KeySend entries in widefs, one to activate SB and one for Teamspeak? eg KeySend1=RWOn KeySend2=RWOff KeySend1=123,16 KeySend2=123,24 Thanks Dave
  3. AFAIK the filter was designed to filter out spikes primarily for the 767PIC aircraft. It acts on rudder, aileron, and elevator (each are selected individually) but it is not designed to filter out an incorrect axis. I have no idea how it works but suspect it acts more like a 'cut' filter rather than averaging the values. What would happen on the PIC767 was that the rudder would flick from side to side and sometimes go hard over to one side, the filter reduced or eliminated that movement. I assume you have asked this question in Pete's forum? Regards
  4. Before worrying about widefs have you checked that the two computers can 'talk' with each other over their network connection?
  5. Thanks Jim, Both links now work, must have been a timing issue as the new files were uploaded.
  6. Anyone else having problems accessing the above links from Pete's recent uploads? I get 'server not found'.
  7. Thanks for the second reply. The StartImmediately=Yes parameter did not cure the problem, however moving FSUIPC from the top of dll.xml to the bottom has cured the problem and both V4064 & 4065 now install and FSX runs. No exe.xml file was found. What would be useful to send to tell_fs@microsoft.com, the dll.xml file,a log file or just an explanation of what was happening and the work-around cure? Regards
  8. Hi Pete, I can't be sure I installed 4.061-3 but thought I had installed each of the updates. The one that does work is dated 25/11/2006 4064 & 4065 cause FSX to quit after the splash screen, i.e FSX does not run. I will email you the simconnect log, dll.xml and FSUIPC install log files for each of the 3 installs, hope yo can make sense of them :) Incidentally the simconnect log file did not increase its number each time I ran FSX, it just overwrote 'simconnect0.log'. I did not change anything in the fsuipc.ini file during the updates. Regards Dave
  9. Hi Pete, Installation of the above version of FSUIPC seems to have caused me problems. I have only just tried FSX since installing V4.0.6.4 and all I get is the FSX splash screen then FSX quits. After some head scratching I decided to remove the DDL from modules and reinstall V4.0.6.0, now FSX runs OK. All the previous FSUIPC version updates have not caused a problem. Any thoughts? Regards
  10. Hi Henk, I have been running Squawkbox on a second PC for years without a problem but it is quite a while since I installed it, however I will try to help. When you install SB asks if you are installing it on one computer or 2. In your case you select 2 computers. You need to install SB on both computers but for each install you need to tell SB if that computer is running FS or not. If you follow the install prompts you should have no problem, also the manual is available from the Sb web site http://www.squawkbox.ca/. To use SB both computers must be networked correctly so they can talk to each other and FS and Widefs must be running and must be connected to FS. The SB forum should be able to help if you still have problems. HTH
  11. Hi Pete, Just to add grist to the mill I think I have just fallen foul of this Simconnect bug. For a few days I have been trying to install FSRecorder into FSX but each time the FSX security panel came up it was totally inactive, I could not click on either button nor the 'how do I....' link. I had FSUIPC 4 4011 installed and also FSCopilot. Today I removed FSUIPC.dll from the modules folder, removed its entry in dll.xml and commented out its trusted status in fsx.cfg. I was then able to install FSrecorder and 'tell' the FSX security panel to run the file. I then got the application error "The instruction at 0x20eab106 referenced memory at 0x09d9f814. The memory could not be read" I then added FSUIPC back into modules, added its entry back into the dll.xml file and restored its trusted status in fsx.cfg I have not tested each module yet but all three (FSUIPC, FSCopilot and FSrecorder) now appear in the addons menu. I have since installed v4023. I have used the autogen, clouds, water and taxi/runway reduced textures. FSrecorder http://www.neusinger.net/recorder/ Regards Dave
  12. Hi Denver, AVG has a large user base, probably because it is free :D , so I don't think you need worry about its effectiveness. I have used it for years and not had a problem although I do watch what kind of web sites I visit. Bear in mind that the effects on FSUIPC you are seeing from your AV software may also imply it is impacting on the performance of flight sim.
  13. This thread over at http://www.avsim.com may help explain possible problems with just switching off McAfee; look at the post by Neslesman. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=656&page=4 I remember Norton Security gave a lot of people problems and the only way to test it was Norton was to uninstall it, switching it off still left some processes running. If you do ditch McAfee Alen+1 consider using AVG, many have used it with no, or minimal impact on their system. Good luck in your quest.
  14. Although this advice is a little late for you Tito it may be of use later on. There was no need for you to uninstall FS2002 if there was an extra copy of fsuipc.dll on your system. Just do a search for fsuipc.dll and if the results come up with more than one entry delete all those which are not in fs2002\modules folder.
  15. Just to add to Frank's wishes. A Merry Christmas to you and your good lady Pete many thanks for your continued work on your modules. Enjoy the steam trains, at least real ones are easier to see than N gauge  Have a good one.
  16. Just tested 3.499a and it works as advertised Pete. Thanks for all your hard work.
  17. Hi Pete, Just installed the new FSUIPC Beta V 3.4.9.9 dated 30/7/2005 and have a problem syncing the throttle input to all 4 thottles, unless I am doing something wrong. On page 1 of 'Joysticks' I click 'Map to 4 throttles in the throttle section. On page 3 'Seperate throttles....' I set throttle 1 with max, min and 2 'null zones' to allow reverser action as with the previous version of FSUIPC. Click OK but in the PMDG 737 the engines are at 60% N1 with throttles at idle. If I go back to page 1 of the joystick settings the 'map to 4 throttles is unticked. EDIT: Just put the 'old' FSUIPC back V3.4.8.0 and throttles work as they should.
  18. Glad to hear the second Op went well Pete and hope the new eye drops speed your recovery. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
  19. Peter, may I be the first to congratulate you on being awarded a special award in the Vflight 203 awards ceremony. I quote "Special Award to Peter Dowson for all his modules, payware or freeware, that without a question helped virtual aviation to be what it is today" Justly deserved Sir.
  20. I run that setup with great success so hopefully I can answer your question. Let's define the PCs first. PC1 is the one directly connected to the internet PC2 has no DIRECT Internet connection PC1 runs SB, RW, WideFS client and any other add-on FS programs such as weather programs. PC2 runs FS including the Widefs server DLL in the modules folder and it also runs SBRelay. I have ICS running so that I can host MP sessions on PC2 but I don't think you need it for running Sb and connecting to Vatsim. try it without and if it doesn't work install ICS (unless you use a router). Connect PC1 to the internet Start FS on PC2 but do not start a MP session, and start Wideclient on PC1 Start SBRelay on PC2 and wait until it has established and you see the line 'You can now connect SquawkBox 2 and FS2004 to this server' Go to FS Multiplayer->Connect, enter your player name Leave the IP address blank and FS should show in the Sessions window 'SBRelay - FS2004 (1ms) Click join NOT host On PC1 start SB, enter your player name and select TCP/IP Connection as normal, click OK. Click 'Start Search' and again leave the IP Address blank in the 'Locate Session' window. SB should then show 'SBRelay - SquawkBox2(1/814)' as the game to join, click 'join' and away you go. 21. I was not asking you to fix the FSNav problem Peter, I was reporting what was happening on my system with certain settings in the hope it was of help, obviously it was not despite you asking users to test the InitDelay=0 line. >I have no main page< My mistake. I thought this was where we got your most recent files from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Obviously I was mistaken about that also, I will delete it from my bookmarks and await something turning up at http://www.avsim.com
  22. Don't know if this of any help Pete, but here goes . Start FS9 and go to full screen, OK. Close FS9 and then restart so it opens in full screen mode. Splash screen opens but all is black with only the spinning aircraft showing. ALT+ENTER to go back to windowed mode and all is OK and can 'restore down' and and back to full size. I can also go from small window view to full screen using ALT+ENTER without a problem. However if I try to open FSNav in full screen mode it partially appears, draws very slowly, then switches back to panel view with occasional flashes of part of FSNav. FSNav displays correctly, and draws quickly in windowed mode, and it looks as if AA works in window mode which I don't think it did in FS2k2. This is with a register version of FSUIPC and InitDelay=0 in the genral section, also AdvDisplay.dll is renamed to take that out of the equation. Running a GF4 Ti4800SE card with 44.03 drivers and Quincunx AA set in the card, not in FS. I do not have the ViMaCore2004.dll nor the PFC dll anywhere in FS9 but do have autosave V 1.4.5. Rgds Vulcan PS AdvDisplay is still showing V2.1.1 on your main page Pete.
  23. Hi Mike, I'm sorry I can't help with installation. I have my copy but when installing it asks for a serial number which I don't have and I cannot remember after all these years if it came by e-mail or if it should be on the CD jewel case. If the latter then I have swapped jewel cases because there is no serial number on the case that contains EFIS. Having said all that I would go along with Pete in the assumption that it should work with any OS but you will need Pete's excellent FSUIPC. If you do problems installing EFIS come back, between us we may be able drag up the details from the dim and distant past of how to do it :) A bit like going back to DOS after all this time  Rgds
  24. Ah yes, EFIS98, I remember it well :) , in fact I still have my copy, along with a load of other FS98 stuff  As Pete says it should run OK via FSUIPC by selecting FS98 as the flight Sim version, but like Pete it is a long time since I used it although I seem to remember that selecting the correct FS version was no big deal. Don't be too worried about the original publisher going out of business and therefore no tech support, you wouldn't have got any when they were in business  IIRC I think you can still get current navdata for it from Richard's site. Best of luck with getting it running.
