  1. Pete,To the best of my recollection I have not used the Profiles option.I do not see it listed in FSUIPC.ini.All I did originally was to check aircraft specific on single eng planes and assigned throttle, prop and mixture to levers.Everything else to was to all aircraft.Hope I am explaining this properly. Thanks,Ron
  2. 3. Just did a FSX install on new computer.Verified FSUIPC installed and is working.Exited FSX.Copied my .ini file into modules but none of my assignments are working.Do I need to copy another file? Thanks,Ron
  4. I read the Joy Letters page several times before posting. Not clear to me, that is why the post.I am a college graduate but also an old guy.Been doing this a long time.If you say everything is perfect I am happy.Hopefully after new computer ect. I will not have to bother you again with inane questions. Thanks for the help.Ron

  6. I use the mouse wheel for trim.Just check the box in FSUIPC.Ron
  7. Pete,Thanks for the help.I reread your manual again. It sems to be working .You remind me of my advanced physics teacher in high school 1964.Also my father.I figured it out.Hopefully when I have to unplug everything and then plug it in it again it will all be there just as it was.If not,I will figure it out again.I am having senior momnents but I use these forums and FS to keep my brain cranking. When I check out at the store I always put down coins so I get even change back.Try to out smart the person with the computer register. I am from the old days when you actually had to count out the change, not look at a digital readout.Ron
  8. Pete,I have been going thru the user's manual and came to the section of when unplugging USB devices and then plugging back in but not the same port things don't work.I have had this problem so I have my cords labeled. Will you please give us a lttle more detail on how to make entries to rectify this problem.I have read the section several times and still don't understand how to do it.Thanks for your support and patience.Ron
  9. Problem solved(I think).I had a stuck button on my yoke that was interfering with parking brakes.I now have them working with ".".I used FSUIPC to calibrate brakes and they seem to be working fine.I do use the manual but sometimes I get ahead of myself.Always had that problem. If all else fails,"read the instructions dummy!"Thanks for the support.Ron
  10. Thanks for the reply.I have them working properly when assigned in FSX with reverse checked. Thanks for the explanation for that,I always wondered why we had to check reverse. It is in FSUIPC that I have the problem.I will try recalibrating there.I did not see a reverse check box in FSUIPC.I just set neg value, push the toe pedal then positive one, correct? They work when I apply them but they stay on.I will check my parking brake assignments is FSX.I once had them assigned to a button on my yoke, but I know that is not there anymore.Ron
  11. Pete,I am having a similar problem but with FSUIPC assignment not FSX.My brakes work fine when assigned in FSX,but when I delete them in FSX and assign them in FSUIPC the "Brakes" light comes on and the brakes are on.Plane won't move.Hit CTRL B and the "Parking Brakes" come on.Hit CTRL B again and both go off.I have the brakes assigned in FSUIPC<left brake/right brake and calibrated. So right now I have my brakes assigned thru FSX and all other controls thru FSUIPC.No problem, but I would like to solve the problem. Thanks,Ron
  12. Thanks for the repy.I figured it out.I don't know why I was getting the different options, but it is working fine.Actually, somehow I got to your "auto settings" for flaps and now they seem to be working fine without going to the flaps calibration page.Computers work in strange ways for me.I'm an old guy with a college education from "way back".I loved my statistic courses and still have the book. After looking at it I know it trained my brain but I have no idea what the formulas are now.Ron
  13. Pete,I've read the instructions and done exactly what they say but nothing happens when I try to set flaps detent. No values change and I get the "critical stop beep"when I hit set.Do I have to assign the axis first? When I go to axis assignment page it recognizes the control and the numbers go up and down as they should. When I go to page 6 flaps calibration it says axis not assigned. When I hit set the 2 columns with no centre come up and then I hit DT and the centre one comes up.Everything looks exactly as in the manual, but no values change when I move the lever to set the detents. The only thing I can figure is I have to assign the axis to some function.I tried flaps set and flaps detent but still nothing.I got the landing gear working with another lever so I think I have an understanding of what I am supposed to do.Thanks for your support.Ron
  14. Got it and furthered my knowledge of FSUIPC.Thanks for the help.Bye Bye.Ron
  15. Pete,Thanks for the reply. The trim is working fine, so it is not an issue.I used fs assignments for throttle 1&2 which seemed pretty basic and calibrated thru FS.Showed both throttles working independenty.Went to the Baron and moving either throttle moved them both.Second following the first, but I can't run up each engine separatley.I have been FSing since my Tandy 1000 and using your program forever.I'm an old guy and this is my winter hobby so I like to use it as a learning experience. So,is there a way to save all my current settings in FSUIPC,then go to FSUIPC and try to do other setting etc. but if I screw up can I get back to my old settings?I know that you have to have this option somewhere in your program. Please bear with me.Thanks for your help and support.Ron
  16. I am following manual learning how to use FSSUIPC.Doing OK but I can't seem to assign separate throttle levers on my Saitak throttle quadrant to the default Baron or 737.Could this be because the default AC can't be programmed this way?I finally got the elevator trim assigned to a lever on my CH yoke and have been going by the manual for the throttles, but no luck. Thanks,Ron
  17. Peter,Thanks for the reply.I think the problem I had originally was that FS did not have a way to set the alt using keys. That was why I used the assignments in FSUIPC.I will go look again. At least now I know what is and isn't possible with FSUIPC.Ron
  18. I have a 5 button mouse and want to assign the 2 buttons to raising and lowering alt setting in AP.I tied using FSUIPC key assignments and it doesn' recognize them,I am using latest version with FSX and SP1.I presently have num pad #8& 5 assigned to do this with FSUIPC.Thanks,Ron
  19. Peter,Everything is working!I figured it out.I reinstalled FSX,copied my back up modules folder over and FSUIPC did not show up on FS menu.No add ons option.Installed the SP1 update, installed FSUIPC 4.1 and there it was!All options working.I guess my problem was that I installed 4.1 but did not have previous version installed on clean install. Thanks for all your help. This is always a learning experience for me.Have a great week off.Ron
  20. Peter,Here is a follow up.I may have it figured out.I just reinstalled FSX.I am going to copy my backup modules folder to fs before I install SP1.In that folder there is a FSUIPC4 key. When I click on it it asks"Are you sure you want to add the info in G(Where my backup is).fsx\modules\FSUIPC4.key to the registry?"So I should hit yes?and then if FSUIPC works I can install SP1 and then FSUIPC 4.1?Just my idea.Ron
  21. OK,I am reinstalling FSX now properly(I think).I made a complete backup of FSX before all this started.I went to my backup modules folder and all the FSUIPC4 files are there inluding a key.I did not have a key in the 4.1 I installed to FSX with SP1.If I install 4.1 into this fresh install should I just copy that key file into the new modules folder? Thanks,Ron
  22. I am reinstalling FS because I installed it with wrong path .I had D:\Microsoft Games\all the FSX Folders.Should be D:\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\All the FSX folders.I did this once before and FSUIPC would not install. You advised at that time that I should correct my installation to avoid future problems.I did a clean reinstall for SP1 and did it the wrong way again so I am doing another reinstall.I am getting old and a little forgetful. How exactly do I get the log you want? Thanks again,Ron
  23. By "go to FSUIPC" do you mean go to the Add-Ons menu, and click on FSUIPC? That takes you to FSUIPC options. Only one of the options there is to register FSUIPC. It never asks you to do anything explicitly. Many folks don't register because they have no need of the extra facilities. If it is registered it will say it is registered, if it is not, it will say it is not registered. The rest is up to you. If you mean it is saying you are not registered, and you are clicking on the Register FSUIPC button, then the fact that is shows your name and email means there is an FSUIPC4.KEY file in the FSX Modules folder containing those details. Also, in that file, there will be the Key you registered with before. This is exactly what is happening but when I cut and paste the key it says it is invalid. It is for FSUIPC4.I have to reinstall tonight so I thought I would copy my backup FSUIPC.dll from prio to uninstalling FS and run FS before installing SP1 and see if I have a working FSUIPC.Simmarket emailed me that it was a technical problem and to contact your support. And I do thank you for that support.I have been using FSUIPC for a long time.BTW I copied and pasted the key from my order at Simmarket not from the FSX modules folder.I at first tried to enter it manually.
  24. Thanks for the quick reply.I'm in my office so I will get back to you later. When I am in FSX I go to FSUIPC and a box opens asking me to register. It has my name and email and asks for a key or registration number. That's all I can tell you now. Will get back with details after I reinstall FSX again tonight.Ron
  25. Pete,Sorry,it does ask me to register not for a key.I have a registration number for FSUIPC4 from Simmarket. It was working fine in FSX prior to me uninstalling FSX for a clean reinstall for SP1.I uninstalled FSX,reinstalled with SP1.Installed FSUIPC 4.1.Now it is asking me to register and won't accept my code.I have emailed Simmarket trouble ticket also. Thanks,Ron
