Yeah, I'll be flying with VATSIM in FS9 until FSNav is available for FSX. I just can't live without it!
Mind you, I haven't explored the GPS in FSX but I just can't believe it's as quick and easy to use as FSNav.

Hi - any news?
-
Er, where is that and what would we put in there????!!!
Ian
Don't worry - found it!

Hi Peter, thanks for such a swift reply.
Looking through your text and putting two and two together I think it must use directInput since only a handful of switches are visible to Windows and FS9.
I like the idea of HID drivers to emulate one or more Joysticks and will post a message in the Beta Innovations forums to see if that's possible.
Thanks again

Hi,
I have a Beta Innovations Plasma Lite v2 card plus it's GT64-X expansion card. Together they give me 88 switches to play with but for some reason only a few are visible to FSUIPC.
I'd really like to be able to program all the switches from FSUIPC so I can dispense with the BetaInnovations key mapping software which is a little twitchy. Plus I guess it makes more sense to have the controls running from one bit of software rather than spread across multiple resource grabbers!
Can you tell me if there's something I can do to reveal these switches to FSUIPC. If not, are there are any plans to make this possible in the future?
If it's just not possible is there something sensible and meaningful I can pass on to BetaInnovations that they could maybe do to the firmware to make this possible? (You'll have to excuse my ignorance on this subject!)
Many thanks

If there is a new version could we have assignable shortcut keys?
This will allow those of us with extra hardware to assign switches and knobs to FSNav functions via FSUIPC (eg Zoom in/out knob, flight plan mode full/half etc).
Thanks!

Just as you said Vulcan :D

That's great news - thanks for the link!
As it happens I'd already emailed Support and will let you all know what they have to say when they reply,
Cheers again

I tried out FS Commander last night but found it to be no good as an alternative to FSNav because it's a self-contained program not an FS add-on.
It doesn't add itself to the FS menu and runs outside the program as a completely separate program so you can't see it when FS2004 is in full screen mode. You can only see both programs if FS2004 is in Windowed mode.
Moreoever the few minutes I spent with it were taken up with a bunch of run time errors so I doubt I'd take it too seriously as a contender.
Shame - the site contains so pretty neat screens shots and the blurb makes it sound fab. If it could be integrated and made idiot proof it'd probably steal the march on FSNavigator in no time.
As for the future of FSNav, it's probably worth all of us bombarding that support email address with enquiries. After all, we're all paying customers and deserve an answer even if we don't get an upgrade!

I just installed a new GoFlight module and at the same time I installed TrackIR4. Now when I start flight sim 2004 I get nagged about a non-accredited file. I've used Peter's page to copy and paste the AIBridge key into FSUIPC and even took care to check the product name etc was ok (it's v2.3) but still get this message so I guess it's another file. Can anyone help? I seem to be jinxed when it comes to computers, lol!

I failed dismally. Installed the new FSUIPC, copied the Modules folder over from FS9 and put a reference to FSNav into the DLL XML file but nothing. Not even an appology lol
