csbrust
I'm am a recent registered user of FSUIPC/WideFS and need some guidance on the feasibility of using MSFS as an out-the-window display system. I have a high fidelity real-time flight simulation that I would like to use to input data to MSFS (via FSUIPC) for the purpose of displaying a real time out-the-window (OTW). MSFS needs to come up displaying the OTW without any user selections and it has been suggested to use MSFS "slew mode" as part of the control solution. I was hoping someone knew of information on what a good method for accomplishing this would be OR, even better if someone knew of some examples/applications that do this already. Any help would be appreciated.

A few pointers only, I dont have first hand information myself. http://www.wideview.it - a networked display for FS, in theory your hifi sim could speak the wideview protocol and act as a "master" FS machine. http://mypage.bluewin.ch/Visual744/ - Visual744, a program that slaves MSFS as a visual system for 747-400 Precision Simulator. Btw, visit the home cockpit forum on this same site (found via the "Simflight Forums Index" link) and on http://www.avsim.com there's another home cokpit forum. We'd be very interested in seeing stuff like this, plus there are many people with good ideas and experience about stuff like this. I hope those are useful! csbrust
Thanks for the pointers. In all my searching I never ran across these two sites. they look like they are exactly what the doctor ordered. I'll post a reply to this once I decide which one to use and get things working. Thanks.
Highvolt
I would like to know this too.. I thought they only passed longitude/latitude data + pitch, roll, yaw angle + height. Pete, since they are using your FSUIPC, i expect you know something more about this too ? Kind Regards, Wim
Pete Dowson
Pete, since they are using your FSUIPC, i expect you know something more about this too ? Programs can use FSUIPC for many things. I think WidevieW only uses it (in FS2000/2002) for weather transfer. The other stuff it does itself. It's an FS module.
