VISUAL FLIGHT PATH in FS9

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to use a key press to toggle the Visual Flight Path in FS9 ON and OFF?

Sorry, what's the visual flight path?

Also is there any way to pan the views out of the cockpit SIDE views as was possible in FS2002 ?

I don't know. Have you tried? I thought you either had panning or specific cardinal views. I've always used the latter. You can pan up and down in any of those views, and there are lots of "eyepoint" type controls which I've never tried.

Have you tried posting these questions in the FS2004 Forum? They tend to deal with these general FS questions a bit better there.

Regards,

Pete

this is what was possible in FS2002 (look forward left by holding the 7 key on the num block and additionally pan up and down). It was a usefull feature when looking out for traffic but at least on my computer this doesn't work anymore in FS9. I have tried all possible combinations of panning and eyepoint controls I could think of. As a workaround I have set my side views a bit more zoomed out (0.75).

Regards,

Frank

Thank you Pete for your prompt response.

Visual flight path can be activated in the Aircraft dropdown menu and is those red squares indicating the correct glideslope.

I have tried to obtain an answer to my pan view question in the Avsim forum but I received no response.

Regards,

Alan

Oh, what they used to be called the EFIS display -- there were things for that in FS98 and FS2000. Check the FSUIPC SDK Programmer's Guide, offsets 0E5A through to 0E68. I've no idea whether any of that still applies in FS2002 or FS2004. It looks like no one has ever tried it.

If it does then you try setting an on/off control by using the Offset Word Togglebits control (in FSUIPC) with offset x0E5A and parameter 1.

I have tried to obtain an answer to my pan view question in the Avsim forum but I received no response.

Try the FS2004 Forum, not far from here. Or else experiment with some of the assorted Pan and Eyepoint controls available. Sorry -- I haven't an answer. I would have to experiment to find one in any case, same as you.

Regards,

Pete
