jschall
:?: When I enter TCASID=Type into FSUIPC.INI, it only returns the Manufacturer, e.g., de Havilland, rather than the actual Type, e.g., DHC-6. I am trying to use this function of FSUIPC in Rana Hossain's Flight Sim Manager Moving Map (FSMMM) application. In FSMMM's kneeboard window, the AI aircraft appear as icons around the user aircraft, and if you hover the mouse over an AI icon, a tooltip shows the TCASID as well as (optionally): $LAT$ AI aircraft Latitude $LON$ AI aircraft Longitude $HDG$ Current Heading $ALTITUDE$ Current Altitude $VS$ Current Vertical Speed in feet/m. Note: if the aircraft is on runway, it may still show a Vertical Speed $GS$ Current Ground Speed in knots $DU$ Distance to User aircraft in Meter (or in Km) $STATUS$ Current Aircraft Status Is there any way of feeding the AI aircraft model rather than manufacturer from FS to FSMMM? - Jeff
Pete Dowson
When I enter TCASID=Type into FSUIPC.INI, it only returns the Manufacturer, e.g., de Havilland, rather than the actual Type, e.g., DHC-6. It returns whatever FS gives to FSUIPC when it asks for ATC type. I think, if the ATC_TYPE entry is missing in the Aircraft.CFG file it may give me the UI manufacturer instead. This is why I mention that it is "generally the make" in my documentation. Is there any way of feeding the AI aircraft model rather than manufacturer from FS to FSMMM? Use "TCASId=Model". jschall
Thank you for the tips, Peter. I will try them out, as well as RTFM! - Jeff
jschall
TCASid=Model worked fine. It takes the value of atc_model= from the aircraft.cfg file, which I can edit to whatever I like to see on the Moving Map. Thanks again, Peter! - Jeff
