paulwhite
I'm having trouble reading the lettering in the ADVdisplay window. Some of the letters are missing in the text, for example.... 2. W br f o 119 5 This, I presume is the weather brief, but why are only some letters showing? Any help very gratefully received. Thanks
Pete Dowson
I'm having trouble reading the lettering in the ADVdisplay window. Some of the letters are missing in the text, for example.... 2. W br f o 119 5 This, I presume is the weather brief, but why are only some letters showing? I've no idea. What exact window is this? How is it configured? Which program is sending this information (i.e. what are you using advDisplay for?). There is a problem in FS's window if programs are trying to display messages containing multiple lines, and the symptom is exactly as you show. But this is when AdvDisplay is NOT active, so that the messages are therefore simply going straight through to FS's own green translucent display. When you go to the Modules menu, is the Advdisplay entry ticked to show it is active? If not, you've installed it but you aren't using it! paulwhite
Thanks for the help. When I launch FS after activating RC4 I always get a green band running across the top of the screen and then I resize and that it the window I get with the missing letters. I realise now after your reply that the green band is not ADVdisplay but a message window. I've twigged it now so thanks very much.

I've twigged it now so thanks very much. Okay, good. In the next version of FSUIPC (for which there will be an advanced interim release here, in the Announcements above), you won't need AdvDisplay at all if you prefer the FS-type translucent windows. FSUIPC will support a new Window especially suitable for RC4 directly. I'm hoping to release the interim version by Monday, with a view to a formal user release in the usual places around mid to late April. dickparker
It does not sound like MasterBaker actually has AdvDisp running. Maybe he forgot to activate through the FS9 menu "Modules". He should be seeing a separate window, not the translucent FS9 window.
