Manny Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 I read this http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=1925&page= The exact quote for #2 is: "We are working very closely with Peter DowsonSo he's working directly with us to make sure that those aircraft that use that will work, and it'll be easier for third-parties to not have to use that in the future because they can use our API. We'll be releasing quarterly updates to our API so that if we don't get 100% of it in the beginning we'll be able to catch up." But I thought I'll ask the source of truth directly. Its interesting. Anything you would like to add Pete? As to the future strategy of FSUIPC and MS? :P Manny
Pete Dowson Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 But I thought I'll ask the source of truth directly. Its interesting. Anything you would like to add Pete? As to the future strategy of FSUIPC and MS? If I knew I wouldn't be allowed to say. Unlike MS spokespersons (it seems) most others involved are subject to very strict NDAs. There will be an FSUIPC for FSX. I can't say any more, but whether that is because I don't know or can't say I'm afraid you'll have to guess. Sorry. Regards, Pete
dfournie Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 Very interesting. It seems Adam Szofran is now employed by Microsoft ACE Game Studios. Pete, given any thought to relocating to Redmond, Washington? :0 Before the confirmation that FSUIPC will still be available for FSX I was leaning toward the notion that Microsoft could just as well absorb the concept and make FSUIPC/GPSOut/etc. directly a part of FSX. I am glad that does not appear to be the case.
westv Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 I would be amazed if FS weren't working closely with Pete for a FSX compatible FSUIPC. Remember the FS9 update? A new FSUIPC came out almost the same day I seem to remember.
Pete Dowson Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 Very interesting. It seems Adam Szofran is now employed by Microsoft ACE Game Studios. Adam has been in the FS team at Microsoft for years now. That was one of the reasons he couldn't continue with the FS5IPC, FS6IPC series. Regards, Pete
