Until now I had assigned the axis of my CH Pro yoke, pedals and Saitek X52 throttle via FS2004. In the manual of FSUIPC 3.70 I saw that it's also possible to use FSUIPC for this assignment.

I put the stick_sensitivity_mode=0 to the FS9.cfg and set the sensitivity of all the axis in FS2004 to max and the null-zones to min.

Then I deleted all the axis-assigments and used axis assigment option of FSUIPC.

Everything worked fine after that, excepted for the pedals. When I opened the throttle it looks like the parkingbrake was fasten. No forward movement or only a little bit to the left. Of course I calibrated the 3 axis in FSUIPC, but no improvement.

What is happening here???

The pedals won't affect the PARKING brake. If you mean your toe brakes were full on, then that is certainly more likely. Most pedals have the brake axes reversed. You'll need to reverse them in FSUIPC. Have a look at the Calibration screen in the options -- you'll see the checkbox to check.

I have another question: you advise to disable the joystick in FS2004 and let FSUIPC the job. But how can I assign the hat switch with FSUIPC?

FSUIPC sees the hat switch as 4 or 8 separate buttons (depending on the device) -- so you can program them in the Buttons tab. If you want to use it in virtual cockpit mode exactly as it defaults in FS, however, you'll need to enable it in FS. FSUIPC doesn't support such a "POV" (point of view) control in the way FS does.

Hi Pete

Just a post script to your last post - following your instructions I have set up the POV on both a SAITEK 52 and CH Yoke to work exactly as it would in FS2004 by using ONLY FSUIPC (ie the joystick is totally disabled in FS 2004). I have no isssues, I have even have the POV set to return to a default "front" position in 2d mode after looking in one direction or another (PAN RESET COCKPIT). It pans beautifully in VC mode, exactly the same as fs2004.

I may have misunderstood your post but in my experience you can get FSUIPC to emulate a POV in FS2004 - without any input from FS2004. If werver looks at my previous post we have discussed how to set up the POV there.

Ah, yes, by assigning to each of the 8 buttons a POV_VIEW with the appropriate direction parameter! I had forgotten that! Thank you ever so much!

Peter, I may add this example to my documentation. I don't suppose you could extract the appropriate lines from your FSUIPC.INI file for me, could you? I don't really have a proper hat device to do my own and test it to be sure, so a known working example would be great. Thanks!

Dear mr Dowson,

I still have a problem to solve. I deleted the assigments for the three levers on the CH yoke and assigned them via Axis-assigment in FSUIPC 3.70.

The left one to the spoilers for my PMDG 737-800 (not aircraft specific). The middle for the proppitch and the right one for the mixture (both aircraft specific).

Then I assigned the middle lever to the reverser 1 and 2 for my C441 and de PMDG 737-800.

I used for all the axis the “Send direct to FSUIPC Calibration”. After that I calibrated the levers on the yoke calibration tab.

Every worked as expected for the Bonanza A36 Prop + Mixture and for the C441 reverser and condition levers.

When I tested the PMDG 737 the reversers worked ok, but when I moved the right lever, the engines went out. So I decided to assign the middle lever to reverser 1 and the right lever to reverser 2, of course aircraft specific.

But everytime I restart the aircraft the assignment for the right lever is gone and only the non aircraft specific mixture assignment is there.????

Please check the Interim Versions announcement above and download the latest FSUIPC (3.709) from there. It is a bug with saving some types of aircraft-specific changes, fixed in 3.707 as you will see.

Interesting that you found "PAN RESET COCKPIT" was the one to use. I see there's a "PAN_RESET" too (65875) which, from its numbering appears to be more associated with the other controls you've used. Did you try both? Any difference?

You copied them literally, no changes? Is your CH yoke joystick #1?

The reason I put the names in my copy was so that you could do all those assignments in FSUIPC's buttons tab -- then you'd be sure.

Check in your INI file, are the other CH buttons all joystick 1 (1,)? Or look in FSUIPC. When you press a button, what does it show?

If FS is doing something then one of those button numbers is being seen as "ON" initially -- if you are looking straight up, then it sounds like 1,32 is on all the time. Without knowing what you have connected I wouldn't know what that was.

If you don't know how to edit and interpret the INI file, I wouldn't mess about with it if I were you. Program the buttons in FSUIPC's Tab. All you need to know from the list above is the "R..." is for Press and with the button Repeating, whilst the "U ..." is for Release ("Up). So you do two assignments for each of the hat positions which look like buttons 32-39.

It wasn't MY assignment! Please read the thread a little more carefully. I asked Peter for HIS assignments, so I could understand exactly what he has done, so that when I document it I will know it works! This is because I have no way to test it here!

Just copying someone else's assignments to your INI files won't necessarily work. Your hardware may be different .. as I see it is!

When I switch my POV switch it says yoke 0.

So, you assigned all the Hat buttons as if they were on joystick 1 and expected them to work from joystick 0?

If you KNOW what you are doing, try editing the assignments you copied to make them address #0 instead of #1 as they do now. You can see the 1's, can't you?

Otherwise, why not simply do as I suggested. Delete those you added and go and do the assignments properly, via the FSUIPC Buttons tab. you know, the one in the FSUIPC Options when you load and run FS and press ALT M F.

I did explain this. Please, what is the problem now?

Yes I did try both reset buttons but if you don't use PAN_RESET_COCKPIT, but use PAN_RESET, you just reset to the last position that you moved to (in 2d mode), ie the view doesn't return to the default forward position, and it gets "locked" in that position until you reset the views using the ALT_MENU key. (Very disconcerting trying to take-off or land whilst you are looking left or right, etc). Plus for whatever reason the pan movement in VC mode is much better when using P_R_C.

Hope this helps, my controllers all 3 now operate totally accurately under FSUIPC "control" with the joystck being disabled in FS2004.
