amarante68 Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 For a wile I am testing Epicinfo to use with EPIC USB CARD. I still find things that may need a fix in Epicinfo5. 1- I want to use the ofset 030C to check hardness of tochdown so a ELT led will lite. 030C is signed 32 so -4 should be ok, but nothing happen in epicinfo.log so nothing EPIC 7seg display to. It is ok in Fsuipc log windows when I run FSX.I see the good value. If I say 4. Everything work but of course the value is unsigned so log and displays are erratic. FSUIPC_READ_18=171,-4,030C (vertical speed wilst tochdown) 2-Also had problems with ENGINE_MANIFOLD_PRESSURE ph. Epicinfo.log detected it but was showing 0 all the time. It is fixed since last 9.2 verssion, but I still find same issue with these other ph value. ENGINE1_ELECTRICAL_LOAD (ph109) ENGINE2_ELECTRICAL_LOAD (ph123) I did what I need using ofset 2888 GENERATOR_ALTERNATOR_1_BUS_AMPS 2898 GENERATOR_ALTERNATOR_2_BUS_AMPS
Pete Dowson Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 For a wile I am testing Epicinfo to use with EPIC USB CARD.I still find things that may need a fix in Epicinfo5. I haven't got time this week, but please remind me next week, AND please always ALWAYS send a log! BTW There is no version 9.2.0 of EPICINFO5. The current Beta version is 4.92. It will become a proper release as 5.xx when tested properly, but feedback is very slow, almost non-existent, and the feedback is always without enough data, like logs. As you know, I don't use EPIC these days, which is why I can't guarantee anything and need help. I also always need to know the FSUIPC version number, please. Pete
amarante68 Posted October 23, 2007 Author Report Posted October 23, 2007 verssion FSUIPC4.DLL 4.1.5.2 In attachment you will find the log+my epicinfo.cfg. Copie de EPICINFO.log _.zip
Pete Dowson Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 verssion FSUIPC4.DLL 4.1.5.2 Thanks for the Log. Can you please update your FSUIPC -- that one is pretty old. 4.16 was current for many weeks, and 4.20 is now available. Let me know if it makes any difference. Regards Pete
amarante68 Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 I see no differences with verssion 4.2.0.0. I sent .log and new corrected cfg tested with this verssion. epinfo.log+.zip
Pete Dowson Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I see no differences with verssion 4.2.0.0.I sent .log and new corrected cfg tested with this verssion. Okay. Thanks. I'll take a look. If you don't hear back from me by the end of the month, please write again. I should be able to get to it on or soon after the weekend. Regards Pete
Pete Dowson Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Okay, I've been looking at your points about EPICINFO 4.92 this morning: 1- I want to use the ofset 030C to check hardness of tochdown so a ELT led will lite. 030C is signed 32 so -4 should be ok, but nothing happen in epicinfo.log so nothing EPIC 7seg display to. The values -3 and -4 are supported for WRITE but not for READ -- the documentation is actually quite clear on this! Did you not notice? I assume you've not tried this in FS9? I am looking to see how much work it is to add -4 support for READs. 2-Also had problems with ENGINE_MANIFOLD_PRESSURE ph. Epicinfo.log detected it but was showing 0 all the time. It is fixed since last 9.2 verssion, but I still find same issue with these other ph value. ENGINE1_ELECTRICAL_LOAD (ph109) ENGINE2_ELECTRICAL_LOAD (ph123) The problem with MANIFOLD PRESSURE was a much more general problem associated with the whole interface to the Gauge variables being incorrect. That was fixed. The problem with those Electrical Load variables simply appears to be that they aren't supported in FSX in the first place! I did what I need using ofset2888 GENERATOR_ALTERNATOR_1_BUS_AMPS 2898 GENERATOR_ALTERNATOR_2_BUS_AMPS If they represent the same values, I'll change the table to provide them in ph109 and ph123. But I want to make the units look the same as they were in FS9, so please, can you tell me what they should be? Regards Pete
Pete Dowson Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 On this: 1- I want to use the ofset 030C to check hardness of tochdown so a ELT led will lite. 030C is signed 32 so -4 should be ok, but nothing happen in epicinfo.log so nothing EPIC 7seg display to. I have added -3 and -4 support for READs, to EPICINFO5.DLL version 4.93. I was a little reluctant to do this as I never intended to make the FSX version do more than the FS9 version, and the FS9 version wouldn't do what you wanted either. I really am not able to develop EPIC stuff indefinitely, and only did the FSX version so exisitng FS9 EPIC users could transfer their stuff to FSX without change. In other words, I am only aiming for compatibility, not new facilities. However, get this: http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/EPICINor_FSX.zip and see if it helps your 30C problem. On this other matter, these: ENGINE1_ELECTRICAL_LOAD (ph109) ENGINE2_ELECTRICAL_LOAD (ph123) only give zero on FS9 as well, so presumably they've not really worked since, maybe FS98 or FS2000. I'm not going to change any of the stuff that should be the same as it was for FS9, so your solution: I did what I need using ofset2888 GENERATOR_ALTERNATOR_1_BUS_AMPS 2898 GENERATOR_ALTERNATOR_2_BUS_AMPS is the correct one. Well done. Regards Pete
