I have been using FSUIPC for quite a long time to program the controls of some specific planes like PMDG 737 NG with my CH yoke, quadrant and pedals, in both FS9 and FSX with no major problems.

Some weeks ago had very serious problems to program the controls of my LVLD 767 in both sims, and finally I gave up and now I only fly that great bird off fsuipc.

When I was trying to solve the problems with the LVLD did all the tests in the FSX, and I probably made a mess between the LVLD Custom Controls and those of FSX and FSUIPC, because since then whenever I get into “buttons+switches” in any plane at FSUIPC 4.20 in FSX it is stuck in joystick 2, button 17. I did not bother much about it then because the planes I wanted were all programed and working well, but now I want to make some changes and just can not get to other button than the mentioned button 17 joystick 2. Besides, in my computer joystick 2 is the C.H. quadrant with only 12 buttons and 6 axis.

I uninstaled LVLD 767 momentarily, just in case it could still cause problems, and fully reinstalled FSUIPC 4.20, but although it lets me get into other buttons it is just for a very few seconds and then gets back to Joy# 2 and Btn# 17.

Anybody know how can I get rid of this problem?. I have thought of reinstalling FSX and all my C.H. controls, but I’ll keep it as my last chance.

It sounds like that device is producing spurious indications regularly, looking like it does have such a button pressed. FSUIPC always shows the last button it sees going from "unpressed" to "pressed".

You can check this using the JoyvieW program attached. Also see if you get it with the device unplugged.

It is most likely to be a hardware problem, either in the device itself, or in the USB cable or USB socket. You could try plugging it into a different socket (though be prepared, then, for the Joystick number to change in FSUIPC). If you are connecting it to a USB hub it may be that the power it is getting from that hub is insufficient.

With axes, which can jitter naturally, I do provide an "ignore list", usable only on-line, so you can get past the repetitive recognition of a jittery axis. It isn't easy to implement the same sort of thing for buttons -- and with working hardware it shouldn't be necessary, but I might consider adding an INI-file only facility to list "bad buttons" which should be ignored. This would only be a desperate attempt to make things work when they are broken.

But first please try the things I suggested.

I had a look at this and it was easy to do, so I've added it in the latest test versions, available in the Downloads Announcements above. With those all you'd need is

IgnoreThese= 2.17

in the [buttons] section of your FSUIPC.INI file and that spurious indication will be ignored, whilst in the dialogue.

I'd still advise trying to find and rectify the cause first, however.

I appreciate your help. I will try your suggestions on thursday evening and keep you posted on the outcome. I tryed Joyview already and indeed shows an error in Joystick 2.
