Strange because FSUIPC 3.93 (the currently supported version) uses the same signature as FSUIPC 4.53.

Show me the Install log file, please. It's a text file, you can paste its contents into a message here.

This suggestion was also posted by another user recently:

Go to fsx folder -> modules and right click on Fsuipc4.DLL and select "security" -> instal the certificate in "approved certificate folder" and retry the installation of FSUIPc4. all it's okay !!!

I have just installed my copy of v4, into FSX on W7, , registered it and then had problems starting W7, read one of your posts and it said it would be fixed withthe latest patch..........I loaded the v4.53 and dragged it into the v4 installed, is this the right way to do it??..........must have worked as the W7 sstarts up with no problems............but, the registered copy that shows up in FSX says it is still v4 (shouldn't it say 4.53??)............... also does not show th "sync pos" to calibrate.....thanks for the help!!! Problems starting Windows 7? I don't know of anything about that.

..........I loaded the v4.53 and dragged it into the v4 installed, is this the right way to do it??

Dragged what, precisely? Version 4.53 comes as an Installer, which you have to run. "no dragging".

..........must have worked as the W7 sstarts up with no problems.

Nothing in any of my software can have any possible affect on whether Windows 7 will start correctly or not. Windows has to be properly running long before you even run FS, let alone anything of mine!

...........but, the registered copy that shows up in FSX says it is still v4 (shouldn't it say 4.53??)

There's never ever been just a "Version 4". that's the generic name, to distinguish it from "Version 3". All versions 3.000 to 3.999 are "version 3", and all versions 4.000 to 4.999 are "version 4". It's like saying "windows 7", which could be any one of a number of builds of Windows 7!

I don't know where you are reading "version 4", but the real version number will be shown in the main "about" tab in the options. You can also find it in the Log file, and in the DLL properties-details.

............... also does not show th "sync pos" to calibrate.

Do you mean the new facility added recently? That isn't in 4.53. For that you must download the latest update from the Updates announcement above. There's 4.546 there now.

Just another quick question, I installed both the patches, (I hope done correct), when I click on the FSX addons, and get the FSUIPC page, should the registered copy say 4.546?? And have the "Sync Pos" for calibration??.............So far, your suggestion to "Set" the lever with the same number as the adjacent lever, keeps the virtual levers in the same position,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks for that fix!! Sorry, what patches? You mean SP1 and SP2 for FSX?

when I click on the FSX addons, and get the FSUIPC page, should the registered copy say 4.546??

If you put FSUIPC 4.546 into the FSX Modules folder and it loaded correctly, it will say 4.546 in the About tab in the menu, and in the Log file, and it will show that version in its Properties-Version details. Whether it is registered or not makes no difference. Registration doesn't change the version number.

And have the "Sync Pos" for calibration??

The Sync Pos facilities have been available on the 4 throttles, 4 prop pitches and 4 mixtures pages for several versions now, including 4.546.

There's no error in the Install of 4.53, evidently.

If you copied the later FSUIPC4.DLL file into the correct place, it surely must be there. But Win7 should have prompted you, asking whether to replace the older one (which of course you should have allowed). If it didn't I expect it changed the name, putting the word "copy" or something in there. (You cannot have two files with identical names in the same folder). Have a look in the folder with Windows Explorer. I'm sure you will see what's wrong!

You have to REPLACE the file if you want to update. Having a renamed copy won't work because it then looks like something different. Files are known by their names..

If you cannot manage files with Explorer it might be better to stay with 4.53 until I release 4.55 in due course -- certainly before Christmas. That will have an installer as all the main FSUIPC4 user releases do.

Oh, by the way, 4.546 is no longer available for download. 4.547 replaced it.

Pete
