Hi Pete.

I have 2 computers on a network, one a desktop and one a laptop both with windows 7 64bit. The desktop has FS9 installed and the laptop has all the other stuff installed including activeksky (the laptop is used to replace another old desktop that had windows xp and widefs worked perfectly with that configuration). The connection between FS9 and the laptop appears to have been made ok, (as indicatged by "1 connected" in the title bar) but activesky wont send any weather through widefs to fs9. I've made sure that both firewalls are off and both computers are in the same workgroup. here are the log files.

You only show half the story. There's a WideServer log too, in the FS Modules folder, which might give more information. The "WideClient0" log is merely the one before the "wideClient.log", from the previous WideClient session.

However, the client log does show that although the Server is discovered it doesn't appear to accept any data from the client. This is most likely due to firewall settings, either on the Client or on the Server. But the WideServer log might show differently.

Sorry here it is. I just tried using FSRealtime and it works, it sends the time updates over the network to flightsim, so i guess its a problem with Activesky.

Hi,

All you need to do is use the 3SDKs to intall SimConnect on the client computer. Then there is just some configurations that need to be made.

With FS9 all Active Sky programs work through WideFS.

With FSX most Active Sky products work through SimConnect.

Also, the OP has FS9 also installed on his client computer and I have requested that he remove FS9 from that machine to help solve this issue.

Thanks it worked, uninstalled FS9 from the client pc, and re directed activesky to the shared folders on the host, now it works great. Funny, i dont remember doing this in XP but oh well.
