In March this year I bought a key for the FSX on my PC and everything worked fine.

Now I got a new notebook (ASUS G73 JH, a top "Gamer") , downloaded FSUIPC but my key, which I purchased in March from Simmarket was not accepted.

Quote: "Sorry this key is not a valid key ".

Do I have to buy a second key for my notebook , and would I get a discountor any other reduction/courtesy ?

I bought the notebook because I want to run FSX when traveling.

By the way: This possibility of a key failure was not mentioned in another new (locked) post

No. The key is yours and you can run FSUIPC on as many PCs as you wish, providing they are for your use.

Apart from incorrect data entry (name, email and key must all be 100% correct), the most likely problem is that it is an old version of FSUIPC you have installed. Registrations purchased in 2010 will not work on any old versions of FSUIPC. Please download the currently supported version (earliest for FSX is 4.60).

You should also certainly check the date set in your Notebook, as already suggested, but normally if that is incorrect it causes FSUIPC to simply not work correctly rather than giving an outright key rejection.

Pete

Thanks for your help, however registration of FSÜIPC4 is still rejected.

It shows up as add-on in the FSX, but requests full registration.

I got my new notebook this September and all installations including Acceleration Pack were brand new. I downloaded FSUIPC4 Vers 4.60a onto my Notebook and used key, name and email as purchased March this year for my PC at hom e.

SInce March the FSUIPC on my Home PC works fine.

The little time difference of 6 to 9 h in advance to USA from Germany didn´t make any problems on my PC.

When trying now to make a new installation on the notebook I get:"You have an earlier version installed. The installed version has not been overwritten.".

Because it may have happened, that during the first download (last October) a failure had occured, I tried to deinstall FSUIPC. I was unable to do so because the FSUIPC programm does not show up under C:\Programms:\Microsoft\ Games

because FSX is not under OS Windws 7 - control since it is installed in a separate drive D : D:\Flugsimulator\FSX. However as mentioned above, FSUIPC did find succesfully the FSX.

Question: How can I deinstall FSUIPC ?

Just to be sure, I will also write a ticket to simMarket whether they can verify my name used to purchase FSUIPC in March . Email address has never been changed.

FSUIPC never "requests" registration in any place at all. Please explain what you mean.

You can only register FSUIPC4 in the installer. There is it optional. It provides facilities to register, or check registration, or simply cancel to bypass new registration.

When trying now to make a new installation on the notebook I get:"You have an earlier version installed. The installed version has not been overwritten.".

There is no such message! The only message anything like that is when you already have the same version or a LATER version installed, and then there's obviously no need to copy the new one in. That is absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with registration, and is only a precaution against overwriting a later version with an older one.

Because it may have happened, that during the first download (last October) a failure had occured, I tried to deinstall FSUIPC. I was unable to do so because the FSUIPC programm does not show up under C:\Programms:\Microsoft\ Games

Why should it? FSUIPC is not a Microsoft Game or anything to do with Microsoft!

Question: How can I deinstall FSUIPC ?

You don't want to use it any more, even though you paid for it?

Uninstalling FSUIPC is completely described in the User Guide, in the section with that name. It merely consists of deleting the DLL. Nothing more complicated!

Just to be sure, I will also write a ticket to simMarket whether they can verify my name used to purchase FSUIPC in March . Email address has never been changed.

If your registration worked on the PC it will work on the notebook. There is no difference. You must me making an error when entering part of the details. All three parts must be correct. Use cut and paste to be sure.

If this is not your problem, with all this talk of installation problems which are not problems and wanting to uninstall, you are confusing me a great deal. What is the actual problem and what is it you want to do?

Incidentally, I assume you aren't registering using the name "Flugente" as there's no sign of anyone purchasing FSUIPC4 by that name. If this is a pseudonym then I can't check things for you.

Dear Pete

at first, my problem is solved and it´s all my fault, because it happened what you had experienced already several times befor: my name was wrong !!! I checked my data at simMarket and found that I had added my First Name to this purchase. I normaly don´t do this. ( Gert Proffen instead of normaly just Proffen)

I am very sorry that I confused you because I went so stubborn in the wrong direction, Nevertheless I learned a lot, not just FSUIPC but also about installation in general because I scaned many other forums and threads.

Since I have found FSUIPC so helpful on my PC I have been very desperate with my notebook while travelling.

Again, thank you very much for your patience and help , all your last inputs are understood and of course correct, some details I´ll check later and let you know if I find discrapencies (what I don´t believe)

Regards from lucky Gert Flugente (Flying duck, prefered in Germany for Xmas rather than bred ones)
