FSUIPC key

Recommended Posts

I am reinstalling FSX after a Hard drive crash and am re-installing totally. I was able to copy my old hard drive before it crashed. The problem is that I copied the module folder into FSX and now FSUIPC says that it's unregistered. My computer is a quad 4 2.6 ghz with 4 gig ram. The os is XP.

The old key is:

[user]

Name=Joseph Watson

Address=raptor67@comcast.net

FSUIPC=XXXXXXXXXXXX

The dll.xml is:

<Launch.Addon>

<Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>

<Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>

</Launch.Addon>

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

JoeW.

The first thing you are doing VERY WRONG is openly publishing your FSUIPC key! I may have to invalidate that one now! Even though I've now obliterated it with X's I've no idea how many unscrupulous thieves might have seen your details first.

Did you rerun the FSUIPC4 installer and re-register? Just copying in the KEY file won't be enough.

Else send the details to me at petedowson@btconnect.com and I will check them for you.

I did re-run the installer but did not register it. I just copied the key over.

I am just wondering what the differences are between a registered and unregistered FSUIPC4...

I currently have the unregistered version, but I'd like to know what other features FSUIPC4 has if paid for, and any other additions or differences.

The user manual is saved by the Installer into a folder called "FSUIPC Documents", inside the FS Modules folder. It contains full descriptions of everything you get access to when you register your copy. Those are the FSUIPC user facilities. Without registration FSUIPC is merely what FS6IPC used to be (it's predecessor program) -- an interface to FS for add-on programs and aircraft.

If your copy was installed by some add-on then it may not have the documentation included. In this case you can obtain it from the Download Links subforum, or merely by running the more recent versions of the Installer.

Regards

Pete
