BigMacCy Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Hi all, Have finally got most of my Saitek working the way I wanted to. I have tried to setup rever thrust on the engines by applying key press with repeat when the button is being pressed and to return back to idle when the engine levers are out of the zone. However its not working like i want to , sometimes the engines although on idle position are actually running on about 70% full. Has someone a better way to do this or explain to me what I have done wrong ? Thanks
Pete Dowson Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 sometimes the engines although on idle position are actually running on about 70% full. Sounds like you have the throttle reversed, or totally un-calibrated. What happens when you push them forward? Pete

Pete Dowson Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 When pushed forward, the throttles work like they should. But give 70% FORWARD thrust at the idle position? That makes no sense. Have you checked Saitek support? Pete
KAPTEJNLN Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Maybe is it set up 2 places in fsuipc and fs own option menu maybe thats why becaus then i know for sure some thing like that could happen.
BigMacCy Posted December 17, 2010 Author Report Posted December 17, 2010 Hi, Its really strange, because when I use the throttles as usual with trying to reverse thrust, then they work fine. As soon as I try to reverse thrust and I drop the Axis into the bottom detent then take it out, the engines accellerate , and I need to press F1 to stop it.

But I assume for reverse thrust all you are doing is assigning the button to F2 or "Throttle Dec" and letting it repeat? I don't see how that action has any influence on the axis read-outs. Have you tried Saitek support? Maybe its a problem with the device itself, or their software? Pete
prokopiu Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Hi what are we talking about here? The Saitek PRO Flight Yoke with throttles? A standard FS aircraft, not AirbusX with its weird FADEC logic! I have that combination working fine, setup is as follows: 1. Disable any assignment of throttles in FS options. 2. Start FSX and go to FSUIPC 3. Go to Axis Assignment 4. Scan for the first throttle lever 5. Set Type of action required to "Send direct to FSUIPC Calibration" 6. Set first action to Throttle1 7. Repeat from 4. for other levers 8. Go to Joystick Calibration tab and move to 3 of 11: Seperate throttles per engine 9. I have NO additional settings /axis not processed 10. Go to Buttons + Switches tab 11. Move first throttle lever beyond 0 which will register a button event 12. On the right activate "Select for FS control" 13. Set Control sent when button pressed to Throttle(x) Decr (x your engine number) 14. Activate tick box "Control to repeat while held" 15. Set "Control sent when button released" to Throttle(x) Cut 16. repeat for each throttle lever 17. Press OK Works here for a long time already. Regards Kosta

Regards Kosta Just as a matter of interest, Kosta, btw , Kalispera, since you are using the Saitek equipment, can you please tell me what would be the best way to setup the flap configuration taken that I am using the LevelD 767 aircraft where the flap config are 1, 5 , 15, 20, 25, 30 and the saitek throttle quadrant has 0, 25, 50 75 100. Thanks Sotiris
