iron cockpit Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I am new to this forum so please bear with me! If any one can help me please. I am having trouble registering fsuipc and widefs in msf4 (fsuicp dll ver 3.9.0.0) I keep getting the message "sorry this key is not valid for fsuicp" for both I purchased the two keys from "SIMMARKET.COM back in the beginning of last year and have not run or tried to register until now. I used a colleges email address and his account via paypal, as at the time I had no access to the web. I manually copied the two registration codes on to paper, now it is possible that I have made a mistake in the process ,but on both !!! I have the customer ID number and order number from simmarket.com unfortunately I am no longer in contact with that college and the computer used no longer exist! I'm not sure which way to proceed thanks in advance
iron cockpit Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 Further to my last post I have now updated to fsuipc ver 3.9.9.1 but alas still refuses to register
iron cockpit Posted October 30, 2011 Author Report Posted October 30, 2011 Yippy hip hooray  registered at last, found a link in the beginners forum and thanks to "GRUMPY OLD MOD" Quote "If you log in to your simMarket account and look at the right hand sidebar at the top, you will see a section entitled "My products". Click on that, select FSUIPC and your details will be in the white box." well after much grovelling to the ex college whose account i used, got the password into the account and found the original registration codes ! but most importantly-used his name and email-add.an bingo all is go.Is there a moral in this story??? guess pete.d will read this when he gets back on Monday, shake his head, and wag his finger, but anyway thanks for a great informative forum
Pete Dowson Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 ... but most importantly-used his name and email-add.an bingo all is go.Is there a moral in this story??? What on Earth was wrong with using your own registration, if they were legal? Why not retrieve those instead of illegally using someone else's? Pete
iron cockpit Posted October 31, 2011 Author Report Posted October 31, 2011 hi Pete, A slight miss understanding I think, at the time of purchase I had no web access or account and my friend at the time purchased the software on my behalf and I paid him in full. he has now given me full permissions to access the account, he has no interest in ever using the account,if it was possible to transfer to my name??? I would Pete(iron cockpit)
Pete Dowson Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 A slight miss understanding I think, at the time of purchase I had no web access or account and my friend at the time purchased the software on my behalf and I paid him in full. he has now given me full permissions to access the account, he has no interest in ever using the account,if it was possible to transfer to my name? No, that's okay. I understand now. Pete
McF Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Hi Peter a newbie to the Forum having recently purchased the full version of FSUIPC and WideFS but I too cannot register the products I am getting the same error message as Iron Cockpit and have copied and pasted the codes from the eMail and also from my online account. Here is the text from both eMail and online account 1 x PETE DOWSON - WIDEFS6 () = EUR 35.70 Sold by simFlight GmbH Select Package Together with FSUIPC Information/Your Registration Key: Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Email: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX FSUIPC3 Key: XXXXXXXXXXXX WIDEFS6 Key: XXXXXXXXXXXX Sub-Total: EUR 35.70 included Tax: EUR 5.70 Total: EUR 35.70 and I'm wondering the if the problem is because I have FSUIPC4 and WideFS7 installed. I got all of the latest versions from the website at http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html and follwed the links from there to the Simmarket website to purchase the full registration Grateful for some help please
Pete Dowson Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 I am getting the same error message as Iron Cockpit Iron cokpit's problem was using an invalid key or other details. If your registration is rejected outright as invalid, the same applies to you. You are mis-entering something. and have copied and pasted the codes from the eMail and also from my online account. Did you also paste the name and email address? Because a mistake or difference in any of the three parts will have the same result. Here is the text from both eMail and online account There's no information there for me to use. Certainly, do NOT post your Key, but i could do with a name at least. Using a false name like "McF" doesn't really help at all. and I'm wondering the if the problem is because I have FSUIPC4 and WideFS7 installed. No, they are not relevant. Pete
McF Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Thank you for a speedy response however, I'm no further forward I have copied and pasted all of the details from the eMail and also from the "your order" page on Simmarket and I'm getting the same message every time: Sorry, this key is not valid for FSUIPC registration I replaced the name and eMail address with rubbish but kept the same code and got the same message I then tried replacing the code with rubbish and kept the name and eMail address correct (as pasted from the Simmarket page) and still got the same message I presumed you would not want the code on public display and if it can help you, my name is Ian McFarlane - spelt just like that in the Simmarket order I do not see any way I can communicate this with you in private, so I await your advice
Pete Dowson Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Thank you for a speedy response however, I'm no further forward Can you tell me what version of FSUIPC you are attempting to register? If it isn't a recent one it may simply be that you are using one with the signature expired. The earliest supported version at present is 3.99 and there's a 3.998g installer and 3.998h update available now (see the Download Links subforum). Also please check that the date set in your PC is correct. my name is Ian McFarlane - spelt just like that in the Simmarket order Found it. I'll check it here too. Regards Pete
McF Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 Thanks again the FSUIPC version appears to be 4.742 dated 03 Oct 11
Pete Dowson Posted November 5, 2011 Report Posted November 5, 2011 the FSUIPC version appears to be 4.742 dated 03 Oct 11 That should be okay, though there is a later version of the Installer (4.745) it would make no difference as far as registration is concerned. Did you check the date on your PC? If the is incorrect it may prove a problem, though usually that doesn't make the registration appear invalid, but simply causes FSUIPC to malfunction as it does if a pirated key is used. I used your details, exactly, copied and pasted from the same details you should be using, and had no trouble registering. The response "invalid code" to your registration attempts just has to be a mis-entry of some sort. It is such a simple algorithm really, and hasn't been changed for years because it simply works. Maybe when you copy and paste you are including extra characters, like a space or something? If you want to go private so you can show other details, my email address is petedowson@btconnect.com. Regards Pete
McF Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Thanks Peter it's still a mystery and not registering! I downloaded the file from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html so I presumed it was the most recent one A check / solution has just occurred to me which I'll investigate this afternoon (need to pop out now) as I will also need to install the software on my other PC (I intend to run Plan-G from a second PC) So I will do a new download and installation and see what happens Fingers crossed! I've taken your eMail so you can edit it out if you wish that to remain private to you
Pete Dowson Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 it's still a mystery and not registering! The mystery is solved. I received all your details by email. You purchased keys for FSUIPC3 and WideFS6 but you are trying to register in FSUIPC4's installer. They are separate products with separate keys. The purchase sites are actually clearly labelled. I should have spotted this earlier when you said you were using 4.742 after I said the latest was 3.998h (scan back and see). Sorry, my error there -- comes of dealing with so many posts in different forums all the time. when I see a new reply I don't always remember the full context. I downloaded the file from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html so I presumed it was the most recent one It would have been at the time you downloaded it. It is 4.745 now. But that's for FSX, ESP and Prepar3D. For FS9 and before you need to download FSUIPC3, the latest installer being 3.998g. Regards Pete
McF Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Thanks again Peter mystery still with me as I was pretty sure I purchased FSX but at least we now know why the problem I've sent you an eMail
McF Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 Hi Pete any chance you could reply to my eMail?
Pete Dowson Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 any chance you could reply to my eMail? One just arrived and I replied. Pete
baswallow Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Hi Pete I'm not having any success when registering FSUIPC. I have even re installed FS9 Please let me know if you need any more information, as my detailed account of what has been happening disappeared with a clumsy slip of the fingers on the keyboard a few moments ago. Pete Dowson Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 I'm not having any success when registering FSUIPC. I have even re installed FS9 No point in that, it's not really relevant. Here is the install log, even though it says registration successful, it isn't!... Installer for FSUIPC.DLL version 3.991 It's probably due to recent changes in Windows security. Please try the current Installer version, 3.998g, as found in the Download Links subforum. Pete
baswallow Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Thank you Pete for your quick reply. Just installed version 3.998g but unfortunately it didn't register either. I'll do a registry clean, and try again and choose the option "delete all previous registrations" Hope to let you know shortly. Nigel
baswallow Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Hi again Pete, No luck yet. I wonder is it something blindingly obvious that I've overlooked, or am I just very unlucky? Nigel
Pete Dowson Posted November 23, 2011 Report Posted November 23, 2011 Just installed version 3.998g but unfortunately it didn't register either. I'll do a registry clean, and try again and choose the option "delete all previous registrations" Hope to let you know shortly. Check the date on your computer. If it's wrong, set it correctly. If it is set before the date of your purchase of the registration it will fail. Otherwise please run FS, then close it down, and show me the FSUIPC.LOG file from the Modules folder. Regards Pete

Pete Dowson Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 The date is correct. I have just run FS9 and here is the FSUIPC.LOG file although it looks the same as yesterdays one. It looks the same because that is NOT the FSUIPC.LOG but the installer log, again. Please run FS, close it down, and show me the FSUIPC.LOG. BTW I see you are running the original FS9, not the 9.1 update. I would strongly advise you to get your FS9 updated with the 9.1 update as there are lots of things fixed, and many parts of FSUIPC do not work correctly with 9.0. Pete
baswallow Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I'm sorry Pete but there is no FSUIPC.LOG. In the modules folder. There is only the FSUIPC documents folder and then FSUIPC install (the only text document), FSUIPC.DLL and FSUIPC.key I have hidden folders allowed. What am I overlooking? Rgds Nigel
