Hi Peter,

I would like to know if is there an offset to use to warn when the GS localiser is captured (meaning for that when you are close to cross the rwy centerline and you have to start to turn on the final course for landing).

I already use the offset C4C to get the warn when the GS is alive.

Could be useful for that the offset C48? Is it correct to assume that a needle value close to 0 means that you are crossing the landing rwy?

Thanks and best regards

Yes, pretty much. The whole needle movement is represented by values from -127 to +127, so if "locked on" (solid lozenge) is within the 1st of 4 "tick marks" then -32 to +32 would indicate that range ... I think! Sorry, it's been a long time since I looked into this sort of thing so I don't remember. Best just monitor the 0C48 offset for LOC and 0C49 offset for GS and see what values match which mark on the ND.

Regards

Pete

I don't think there is a simple answer to that as far as turn anticipation, so as to be properly lined up at the end of turn, should take into account several parameters that are: intercept angle, ground speed and distance to localizer antenna..although all this stuff is available and/or calculable from FSUIPC provided data
