English Rebel
I am contemplating testing Prepar3d to see if I like it enough to switch from FSX but do not want to reprogram all my switches and re-calibrate my controls. I have done a search but cannot find a tutorial or any information that tells me what to do except I did see this in one post: if you have an FSX installation already, just copy your FSX Modules folder over to P3D and adapt your DLL.XML file to suit, in the same folder as Prepar3D.CFG. I'm not sure if this is all I have to do as the FSUIPC.INI file for one has a lot of references to FSX. If it's a simple as just copying the Modules folder what do I have to do to adapt the DLL.XML file? Thanks Alan

If it's a simple as just copying the Modules folder what do I have to do to adapt the DLL.XML file? No "tutorial" is needed. Instrictions are in the Installation guide included in the main ZIP! Just run the FSUIPC4 installer. That will set up the DLL.XML file and so on. For your settings just copy the FSUIPC4.INI file over from FSX. There is nothing specific to FSX in the INI file. If you have macro files, Lua plug-ins and so on, copy them too. In fact there is nothing wrong with copying the whole FSX modules folder over. But run the Installer first to get things set up! English Rebel
Okay so it just installs a second copy into the Prepar3d folder -- same email and key. ThanksAlan
Pete Dowson
Okay so it just installs a second copy into the Prepar3d folder -- same email and key. It'll check and if necessary update both FSX and Prepar3D. Also ESP if you had that. You could register again, but if you are going to then copy your FSX modules folder over there's no need. The KEY file will get copied too. If you can wait till tomorrow version 4.91 installer will be available. I'm preparing it for upload now. English Rebel
Pete Did you upload v4.91to the Schiratti site as I don't see it in the download section? Thanks Alan
Pete Dowson
Did you upload v4.91to the Schiratti site as I don't see it in the download section? Two 4.91 files have been available in the Download Links subforum since yesterday morning -- one with the Installer and one with just the DLL. It is also the one on the Schiratti site. There are no earlier versions now available. It sounds like you've not bothered to refresh your browser. Just press the curly arrow thing or press F5 or even Ctrl+F5! English Rebel
Pete Sorry my mistake -- I was looking at the date for the latest post (which was in June) and missed the 4.91 in the title. I see that you just edited it the original post. Alan

I see that you just edited it the original post. Yes. Annoying that the 'latest post' info doesn't update with edits. With a fixed format listing like the Download Links threads it's just too much fuss posting a completely new item and deleting the old one. So I just highlight the new changes in the little tags you can see under the thread titles. Pete
