Hi Pete - All has been well up until this version:

Start FSX as usual get an error about FSUIPC.DLL (fsuipc_err.jpg) - I ignore the error and continue to load FSX - FSX crashes with err.txt.

I use ASN but uninstalled that and still get error.

Rebooted - tried several earlier versions of FSUIPC going back to 4.90 with same result.

log cuts out at trying to connect to simconnect -

Any thoughts? Any other documents you need?

Thanx,

Vic

Edit:  Tried a few more things.

Uninstalled ASN completely

Restored just the MODULES folder from an earlier backup ( it was FSUIPC V4.921)

FSX ran fine!

Install ASN

FSX Fine

Install4.927a

crash

restore MODULES

fsx fine.

I'd need to see that Log. Paste it here please. In your ZIP you supply everything but the Log!

When you run the Installer it only replaces the FSUIPC4.DLL in the Modules folder, and updates the documents in FSUIPC Documents folder. None of the other files are touched. So the INI file used by 4.927a is exactly the same one as that you copied in your backup Modules folder. So all the above sequence means is that you don't have a problem with 4.921 but do with 4,927a. However, you also said:

Rebooted - tried several earlier versions of FSUIPC going back to 4.90 with same result.

So 4.921 also gave the same problem, according to this?

The differences between 4.921 and 4.927a are relatively trivial and almost all only concerned with P3Dv2.

Hmm. I managed to reproduce your exact problem here, but only with your INI -- and it's the same all the way back to very old versions of FSUIPC, FSUIPC3 on FS9 included!

It's a very old, original bug, dating back I don't know how many years, but it seems to be completely innocuous EXECPT, for some reason I can't fathom, on your specific INI file. I can't see anything odd about it at all, but I don't have the time to track through FSUIPC's processing of every section and line in it.

I just wish I'd got this before yesterday's reease of 4.927a, as that was supposed to be the last full release till I return from holidays Jan 10th. 2014.

I'll post the fixed version, 4.927b, DLL only, in the Download Links subforum n a short while. Please download it from there.

EDIT:

No joy - tried an earlier ini file - works fine - current - no

only question - when fsuipc opens in fsx  is still shows version 4.921 dated sept.

properties say 4.927b

maybe I've mislead here -

installed 4927b by deleting OLD 4921 and copy

I forgot I had my earlier INI file created by 4921 - started FSX - worked - module showed 4.921

changed the ini to the current one which says "modified by 4926" - and FSX crash

I have to go to work now but I'll look at the ini files altho I probably wouldn't see the problem.

That's version 4.921 then. You've not installed either 4.927a or 4.927b! :-(

Then that's the file you need in the FS modules folder. Maybe you have UAC enabled and aren't copying the file to the real (protected) FS Modules folder?
