I had a similar problem some time ago, but do not recall the fix for that particular time. I have just done a new install of Windows 7 64 bit on the flight simulator computer . No anti virus, no internet connection and disabled UAC.

The Simulator was working fine for the last couple of weeks and yesterday it started this problem and will not allow FSX tto run due to FSUIPC. So I did a new install of the latest version 4.927a but the problem remains.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Brian W.

your installation is successful :

just click YES in the window, so FSUIPC will run

if you have a new installation of FSX make sure you run it at least once before installing FSUIPC, all this is in the user guide on page 5

As I stated "will not allow FSX to run " because obviously I clicked YES, but FSX will just sit there and not start. This was happening on multiple occasions.

Normally the error message you are getting occurs when there's been a crash beforehand, in a previous attempt, and pressing yes simply works, allowing things to run. It is very unusual for it not to -- in fact I've not met such a case featuring that specific message.

Is there an FSUIPC4 log file produced by FSUIPC? If not, it has not been loaded yet, and the problem could be a SimConnect conflict with other add-ins.  If a log is produced, show it to me please. A SimConnect log might help too -- instructions for that are provided in the FAQ subforum.

Also please check the Windows error logs to see whether an error in FSX.EXE has been logged. If so please show the details.

Finally, if it is an interaction in SimConnect between two add-ins, it is just possible that using the FSUIPC4 loader might help. Please see the FSUIPC4 installation guide in the original zip.

Ok, thank you for all that information. Amazingly I went out at the start of the day and it all came up fine. As some have pointed out in the FAQ section, persistence seem to be the answer. The log had not been added as there was no connect at the first start-up, even though it stated , as above, that it had been installed.

So it looks as though we are ok again. If I find any further developments, I will post them here.

OK, seems as though the problem is still there. I have FSUIPC 4928 installed. I have found the cause and it seems to be SIOC for starting the 3 Open Cockpit Radios up.

If I start the SIOC code up first, then I am unable to start FSX and the logfile for FSUIPC at one stage, ended  up being 250 MB long when I then stopped the load.( sorry, did not keep it)

I then stopped the SIOC from loading and went back to load just FSX and got the " detected problem with FSUIPC" but it then loaded ok.

So for some reason if I start SIOC first I get the problem. If I start FSX and then start SIOC it would appear to be ok, but one never knows. I think I will try putting the Radios onto one of the other computers instead of the FSX computer. I have heard that it maybe better to start all extra programs first before starting FSX, but not sure if there is any truth to that. The only other program on the FSX computer is PM Sounds.

For the log to end up so large you must surely have some logging options set?  Just turn them off. You don't need anything selected for a Log to be produced.

Or was is some loop with a SimConnect failure to connect? Didn't you get to glance at any of that 250Mb?

If FSUIPC is producing a Log it must be running, and for it to be running so must FSX, so I'm not sure what you mean by "unable to start FSX". You mean it hangs during starting? With what displayed?

You can load programs, eg SIOC, using the Programs option in the FSUIPC4.INI file, and set it to only start when FS is "ready to fly" ("READY").
