cellular55 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Hi Pete, is there a way to understand which are the gates/parkings free in a specific airport. I would write a program able to automatically address a just landed plane to a free parking slot. Thanks in advance for your help Kind regards Joe
Pete Dowson Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 is there a way to understand which are the gates/parkings free in a specific airport. I would write a program able to automatically address a just landed plane to a free parking slot. I expect there's some way by directly interfacing to the FS-traffic facilities in FS -- much as the Microsoft AI traffic explorer module does, and presumably also programs like GSX. But I really don't know that area. The only way I know is to read the list of all the gate positions and check against those the list of all the ground AI, assuming positions are occupied if the aircraft coordinate is anywhere near the gate coordinate -- i.e. within the radius of the gate. Of course this does not mean a taxiing AI aircraft won't get there before you! It might be easier and more effective to simply select a suitable gate and clear it by deleting any AI daring to be parked there. You could continue to repeat that as your own aircraft is taxiing, to keep it clear till you get there. Pete
cellular55 Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 Hi Pete, thanks for the prompt reply. I will try what you suggest at the end of your post. For sure could be great and easier to havefor example a parameter related to specific gates and parkings hiding them to the AI aircrafts, but that is !!! Kind regards Joe
cellular55 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Report Posted June 30, 2014 Hi Pete, even if not correlated to FSUIPC, I would have your experienced point of view on a possible workaround I thought to solve the problem of the topic's subject: To be sure to have always 'empty' a specific gate in one airport, do you think that could be a solution to assign that gate to a not existing airline (i.e.XXXAIr)? Kind regards Joe

I don't know. Do those settings exclude others? You'll need to try it. This is really an area I know very little about. I would ask over at the support site of the AI traffic program you are using if I were you. I know, for instance, Burkhard, author of FSTraffic X (support forum near here) is very helpful when asked questions. Pete Pete
cellular55 Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 Hi Pete, thanks for the suggestion: effectively I use MyTraffic X so I will ask to Burkhard. Kindegards Joe
