smokeywood
Greetings & Salutations: I have done a lot of reading on this forum as well as the Flightsim forum about FSUIPC and that made me decide to get the paid version. I then did the install and found all the documents and printed out the user manual and spent a lot of time reading before I started to make use of the program. I have set up several aircraft profiles and had success using them in the Free Flight portion of FSX however if I try to fly a FSX mission it seems that I can not control the aircraft. This does not apply to every aircraft and to every mission. The one I seem to be having trouble with at the moment is the Boeing 747-400 and flying the "Monsoon Approach" mission in FSX. I even deleted all of my aircraft profiles and went into Free Flight and did a complete new profile setup for the 747-400 and again had complete control of the aircraft but when I went to the FSX mission only the button controls worked but none of the axis controls, ie elevator, aileron, rudder and throttle would respond. Maybe someone could point me in the proper direction as to how to correct this. Thank you for your help in advance it is much appreciated. Pete Dowson
... and again had complete control of the aircraft but when I went to the FSX mission only the button controls worked but none of the axis controls, ie elevator, aileron, rudder and throttle would respond. I've never heard of any problems specifically with missions. As far as FSUIPC is concerned there's no change, it is completely unaware of them. Do you have any assignments for general use -- i.e not related to any profiles? Normally basic flight controls like elevator, aileron and rudder would be assigned for general use and calibrated to suite your controls. I know the calibration might be a little different for, say, fighter or stunt planes than large airliners, to be more responsive, but even then such differences are normally catered for in the aircraft modelling and there's no need for differences in your control assignments or calibrations. Perhaps the aircraft name used in the missions is different and there are no assignments for those controls when you select the mission? In order for me to help further, could you please repeat the test, first the same aircraft but without the mission, then with the mission. Then close FS down. Go to the FS Modules folder and finde these two files: FSUIPC4.LOG and FSUIPC4.INI You may need to change Windows Explorer options to see the full filenames as by default it will hide the filetype part from you -- there are instructions in the FSUIPC docs. Otherwise Log files will be listed simply as text files and INI as configuration settings. Both files are text files, so just load them into a text editor like Notepad, then cut and paste their complete contents into a message here. Use the <> button above the edit area to create a place to paste them. Regards Pete
smokeywood
Thank you for the quick reply. I will do the tests as you requested. It may be later today as I usually do not have time to do any flight sim until in the evenings. Again thank you for your response and I will post the info as soon as I have it available. smokeywood
Greetings & Salutations: Pete I want to thank you for you help this morning and also want to apologize for wasting some of your time. As I said I am very new to both your program as well as FSX and as I was following your suggestions I discovered a mistake that I made that has me very embarrassed. As I said the controls worked perfectly when I preformed a free flight and then I selected the mission that I was having difficulties with and low and behold after I read for I would guess the 10th or 15th time I seen the mission starts with the aircraft on autopilot and it was up to me to disengage and when I did all this were working properly. I am so sorry for jumping the gun and posting here and I really appreciate your help. Gene
