mortonrb Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 I had to rebuild my computer, so this is a complete fresh install of Windows 7 x64, FSX Deluxe / Acceleration. FSUIPC 4.934 is installed, UAC is off, all programs set to run as administrator, A/V set to not scan folders where FSX and add-ons installed. FSX is installed on D:\FSX and FSC is installed on C:\FSC. I am running FSC 8.6 Build 20010. When I select Connect to FS, the screen / aircraft position goes to 0/0. This is not a network setup. Below is my FSUIPC Install Log and Current Flight Log. Any ideas would be appreciated. New Text Document.txt
mortonrb Posted July 20, 2014 Author Report Posted July 20, 2014 I uninstalled version 4.934 and installed version 4.91. Connect to FS function from FS Commander 8.6 is not working.
Daveo Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 Did you try posting the the FSC forum area? http://forum.simflight.com/forum/75-fs-commander-support-forum/ This is for FSUIPC support and I can confirm 8.6 and 9.5 work with 4.934a The aircraft position goes to 0/0 when you are on the freeflight screen.
Pete Dowson Posted July 21, 2014 Report Posted July 21, 2014 I uninstalled version 4.934 and installed version 4.91. Connect to FS function from FS Commander 8.6 is not working. The reason is that FSUIPC is not starting. So part of the FS setup and installation is not providing FSUIPC with the correct indications that FS is "ready to fly". Only after those indications are correct with FSUIPC be able to correctly populate the offsets which FSC s attempting to read. The last time I saw this was in the thread fsx-not-sending-position-to-adex/, and it turned out to be due to SimConnect getting overloaded with FSUIPC's requests for airport vehicles, in order to deal with GSX/AES duplications (an option which is enabled by default). I made a small change for that which is included in FSUIPC4934h, so please try that and let me know. Pete
mortonrb Posted July 21, 2014 Author Report Posted July 21, 2014 Peter I am leaving on a business trip this morning, so I will try the update when I return. In my reply, I misstated, when I went back and installed 4.91 it worked. Thanks
Pete Dowson Posted July 21, 2014 Report Posted July 21, 2014 I am leaving on a business trip this morning, so I will try the update when I return. In my reply, I misstated, when I went back and installed 4.91 it worked. Probably a difference in timing rather than specific coding. I'd need to see the log for that for comparison. Also, when you provide logs could you please close FS first, so the log is closed too. They should be short enough to paste into the message -- use the <> button above the edit area to enclose them. mortonrb Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 Peter: Ok, I was able to complete the tests. The order followed was: 1. Start ASN 2. Start FSX 3. Go to KEWR C-80 4. GPS FSC 8.6 5. Disconnect GPS FSC 6. End Flight 7. Close ASN 8. Close FSX This was done for FSUIPC 4.91, 4.934 and 4.934H For some unexplained reasons, all versions of FSUIPC worked as expected. Per your request, I have attached logs from the 3 versions. FSUIPC-LOGS.txt
Pete Dowson Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 For some unexplained reasons, all versions of FSUIPC worked as expected. Per your request, I have attached logs from the 3 versions. Yes, the logs simply show all is well. The reason is that FSUIPC is supposed to work! What remains unexplained isn't these results but what was different before. Pete
mortonrb Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 Pete I certainly can not explain, as nothing changed from when I submitted the initial issue to when I returned and tested this morning. Thanks for your help. Bill
