I have since rebuild both laptop and desktop computers changed everything that can possibly be changed on my systems (thepain = laptop thebitch=desktop) to no avail, I suspect I need to see my ISP, Unless someone has a solution.

I have used this Settup for a LONG time on many Rebuilds no probs.

Hi.

You need to check your network settings - 127.x.x.x is an internet IP address, not a local area network address. Your local PCs should be on either a 10.x.x.x or a 192.168.x.x range IP address.

Cheers,

Thanks for the replies.

My localhost is 10.x.x.x and I don't access my system from outside.

This is way outside my knowledge base. the problem still exists after a complete rebuild of both computers and a factory reset of my modem.

Please just specify the correct IP address to WideClient. Please read the section in the WideFS User Guide entitled

IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL USERS TO READ AT LEAST PART OF THIS!

Gday Pete I have been following the above posts on this error and spent many hours trying everything I can come up with and the error still persists. The only time I got a full data stream is when the modem was disconnected from the wall ,But if the modem was plugged in before wide client was shut down my isp shut me out for a while. A little bit of history on the prob. Around February The desk top was clean installed with windows 8.1, p3d and the then current fsuipc + WideClient, All worked faultlessly "the best ever' then when the latest vers of fsuipc was installed I notist WideClient was taking a while to connect but still delivering the goods, I ran ccleaner and from that point Wide client has been knocked back. Her are my logs ect from a clean install of P3d + Fsuipc with firewalls + windows defender turned of on the Laptop, modem and the Server Desktop.

Where's the WideServer log? The FSUIPC INI and LOG files aren't really relevant to WideFS, but both Server and Client logs are! And the WideClient INI might be relevant. For instance, why is the "Protocol not yet decided"? Have you put the ServerName in but not the Protocol? you must put neither or both in.

Is 127.0.53.53 the correct IP address of the server?

Currently, all you know is that the connection is refused (error 10061). Either the IP address is bad, or the Protocol is bad or there's sme type of firewall block.

TPC? No such animal! Change that to TCP or UDP!

This has the ServerIP address as 10.1.1.2, so what's thw computer called "THEBITCH" with IP Address = 127.0.53.53?

Pete

oops Sorry Pete

The computer Name = THEBITCH and it IP addr = 10.1.1.2

TCP or UDP both produce the same error result.

Regards Frank

Posted

The 127.0.53.53 addresses are the result of misconfigured name resolution. In those situations it's best to use the IP address rather than the host name.

Cheers!

Sorry, the "ProtocolPreferred" parameter is a Server parameter. don't know why that's in the WideClinet.INI? You need

Protocol=TCP

Thanks Pete I am now getting data from the server. Strange thing is I have tried this combo before ,Must have done something in my blundering around my settup.
