Captain Polaak
Installed DCS by Eagle Dynamics and removed after a week. Now in Settings/Control/Calibration, with enable controllers checked the Controller type is greyed out. and controls do not function. Selecting Enable Controllers, makes the Saitek work with some weird actions. Like throttle controlling yoke. I have a FSUIPC4.ini which shows all the different A/C I have set up. Looking at settings for an a/c, when a button is activated, there is no check in "Select for FS control" box. Is there a way I can change this in the .ini file or do I have to re-enter settings for all my aircraft again?
Pete Dowson
Who or what are you quoting? Would you like to ask a question of your own? Pete
Captain Polaak
My quoting. First question - Where in the .FSUIPC4.ini file does it show button commands to "Select for FS control"? (I have an .ini file for all my aircraft but when I activate a button, the check box is not checked).button
Pete Dowson
First question - Where in the .FSUIPC4.ini file does it show button commands to "Select for FS control"? The INI file has all Button assignments in sections called [buttons], obscurely perhaps? :-) There are no separate parts just for FS controls as opposed to FSUIPC direct or offset assignments. I have an .ini file for all my aircraft but when I activate a button, the check box is not checked).button You have to check the button (actually a checkbox) yourself -- you choose whether to assign to FS control, direct to FSUIPC calibration, or to offsets. It's part of the USER choices offered! Please please please refer to the User guide, in your FSUIPC Documents subfolder! Pete
Captain Polaak
I have had FSUIPC4 for many years and it worked perfectly. I set it up for all the planes I have, Buttons, axis etc. It probably is not an FSUIPC4 problem. I will pursue the FSX/Saitek connection. Thanks for your help. In that case I did not understand your question in the first place. Sorry. Pete
Captain Polaak
It's been such a long time for so many years after setting it up and having a great time flying. I finally refreshed my memory with loads of reading and it finally came back to me. I found that the FSUIPC4.ini file was corrupt. I started a new one and installed 4 aircraft. Works great again. I think, maybe I'm wrong, that the DCS (Digital Combat System by Eagle Dynamics caused the problem when setting up the controls. It is gone now. Thanks again for all of your help.
