Hi Pete,

I have installed a registered version 4.949. My problems are as follows:

When I access FSUIPC in the Add-ons menu, the options and settings screen does not appear; (Nothing Happens).

The other programs in my "adds-on" menu stop working; They are DBS Airport GPS, TaxiSigns HD, Ultimate Traffic 2, GSX. They work fine when FSUIPC is disabled.

FSX hangs when I close it. I must use Task Manager to force a close.

These problems started about 4 or 5 months ago when I tried to install the latest version at that time. I have had a registered version of FSUIPC4 since 7/2012 and I have not had any problems un til now.

Here are the logs.

FSUIPC isn't in charge of bringing up the menu at all. That is purely a Windows action, very standard.  FSUIPC does do things when you select one of the Tabs involving joystick assignments or calibrations -- it will re-scan your devices. However, that is a repeat action of what it does during loading in any case, and if there was any rogue driver causing a hang it would hang then.

It sounds like there's a nasty interaction occurring between FSUIPC and one of your other many add-ons.  I use UT2 and GSX so I doubt those are involved.

They only way I know of for narrowing this sort of problem down is a process of elimination. Start by re-naming both your EXE.XML and DLL.XML, so no other add-ins are loading. You'll find those files in

C:\Users\Conrad\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

Then rerun the FSUIPC4 Installer so you get just FSUIPC4 loading. Test that. If OK, then re-name back the DLL.XML but edit it setting all but one of the entries other than FSUIPC to "Disabled". Test. Then enable them one by one. Then do the same with the EXE.XML, if you have one.

I'm afraid this is a bit laborious, but I don't know of any other way to narrow it down and identify the problem.

Thanks Pete.

I did as you suggested and we have 50% success. When I disabled both dll.xml and EXE.xml, FSX loaded but when I tried to do anything, I got the "Fatal Error" message. Next, I disabled dll.xml but enabled EXE.dll. VOILA!

FSUIPC loaded and I was able to access the options screen. (I haven't done anything with that yet.)

Now I start the process of eliminating which program in dll.xml is causing the conflict.

Thanks again.

You got a fatal error with no add-ons loading at all! Wow!. Then your FS installation must be corrupt in some way.

Next, I disabled dll.xml but enabled EXE.dll. VOILA!

Ah, so by the above you meant you disabled EXE and DLL XMLs but then installed FSUIPC, which would add it back to DLL.XML

In that case I need to know what the "fatal error" was with only FSUIPC running, please. That shouldn't happen. I certainly don't understand how running any EXE would make that better.

Pete,

We have partial success, but hopefully on the road to total success. I have been able to identify the "Taxi Signs" program as having caused the problem. But when I enabled all the PMDG entries in the file,(I did them all at one time), the problem re-occurred.i.e. FSUIPC would not display OPTIONS and SETTINGS.

I then disabled all the PMDG entries and the problem disappeared. Interestingly, though, after I disabled the PMDG entries, I was able to load a PMDG 737-600. I did not, however try to fly. (Too late, too tired).

My next steps, tomorrow,  will be to see if I can do everything with the PMDG and if not reload their latest version.

During the course of all this, I got the "Fatal error, twice.. "Microsoft.Net Framework.  Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. Exception from:HRESULT: 0XC000014B". But I can't tell you exactly what might have caused it. In the future, I'll try to keep track of just which programs were loadedwhen the error occurred.

Thanks again.

There were problems with one version of PMDGoptions, some years ago. Is your DLL recent? Might be worth checking for an update.

The process and module should be recorded for it in the Windows Event Viewer. It won't be FSUIPC as it doesn't use it.

I love Taxisigns HD, so I want to buy a licence key.

BUT

Ce produit n'existe pas ! Au moins l'un des produits demandés n'existe pas.

This is support for FSUIPC, nothing to do with Taxisigns HD, whatever that is.

where can I get the register code ??

I have no idea. Please use the FSUIPC support forums for FSUIPC support only.

Thanks,
