PHII33 Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 I just yesterday installed P3D v 3.2 and the latest registered version of FSUIPC. I have the full version installed in FSX and have the box ticked to create a log in the modules folder which I like to check after every flight to monitor VAS. But it doesn't seem to work that way in P3D. It'll create a log but doesn't show VAS, am I doing something incorrectly? Thanks.
Thomas Richter Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Hi, FSUIPC4 always creates a Log file. Check the Log Extras box that will log the Memory in Use continuously (depending on interval setting). Regards Thomas
PHII33 Posted June 5, 2016 Author Report Posted June 5, 2016 Thank tou Thomas, first though I wonder why your reply didn't generate an email to me as other forums do? Ok, I will have a look for that setting, mayhap I missed it. So you're saying it's a different box I have to tick in P3D than the one in FSX? Thank you very much for your reply, I appreciate it.
Thomas Richter Posted June 5, 2016 Report Posted June 5, 2016 Hi, Thank tou Thomas, first though I wonder why your reply didn't generate an email to me as other forums do? Don't know, I would expect it depends on your settings for the forum. So you're saying it's a different box I have to tick in P3D than the one in FSX? Settings for FSX and P3D are the same. If you don't use Log Extras then it will show at the end of the log after closing FS. E.g. here: Minimum available memory recorded was 3019Mb If you set Log Extras then it will log all the time depending on interval setting, e.g. here: 21344 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 63000 Memory in use: 1682Mb, Avail=2414Mb 123188 Memory in use: 1682Mb, Avail=2414Mb 183359 Memory in use: 1682Mb, Avail=2414Mb 243500 Memory in use: 1682Mb, Avail=2414Mb 303672 Memory in use: 1677Mb, Avail=2418Mb 363875 Memory in use: 1823Mb, Avail=2273Mb 424125 Memory in use: 1826Mb, Avail=2270Mb 484344 Memory in use: 1837Mb, Avail=2259Mb 544516 Memory in use: 1865Mb, Avail=2231Mb 604781 Memory in use: 1902Mb, Avail=2194Mb 665000 Memory in use: 1918Mb, Avail=2178Mb 725234 Memory in use: 1933Mb, Avail=2163Mb 785453 Memory in use: 1933Mb, Avail=2163Mb 845656 Memory in use: 1929Mb, Avail=2167Mb Does your log file show after closing FS the Minimum available memory recorded was xxxxMb ? Thomas
PHII33 Posted June 5, 2016 Author Report Posted June 5, 2016 Hi Thomas, I'm going to boot up P3D now and check that box to make sure it's ticked and then do a quick test flight and I'll get back to you. I changed my settings on this forum to give me notifications but still none so I'll just have to remember to come back here. Thanks you for you help, Paul
PHII33 Posted June 5, 2016 Author Report Posted June 5, 2016 Ok, I had Log Extras unticked so I ticked it and made a test flight. It gave me no VAS log like you show above and what I'm used to in FSX. But it did, at the end of the log file tell me "Minimum available memory recorded was 2460 mb". But still no VAS list like above.

Thomas I discovered what it was Thomas. I did not have 024C and S32 in the boxes. It works perfectly now, I have a running VAS log. Thank you for your help, I very much appreciate it. Best regards, Paul

That's only if you want to monitor the VAS in a Window or on the title bar. They do nothing without one of those options ticked below. Also, going back to your first post: 15 hours ago, PHII33 said: I have the full version installed in FSX and have the box ticked to create a log in the modules folder Just a clarification: You don't need to tick anything to get FSUIPC to create a log. It ALWAYS creates a log, you can't stop it. And it doesn't matter if it's "full" (I assume you mean "registered") or not. Pete

That's odd because in P3D v 3.2 when I put in the offset codes it started showing me my VAS in the log similar to the above: 725234 Memory in use: 1933Mb, Avail=2163Mb 785453 Memory in use: 1933Mb, Avail=2163Mb 845656 Memory in use: 1929Mb, Avail=2167Mb Yes, registered, I have the registered version for FSX & P3D v 3.2.

Pete

Pete But that's just it Pete, I did not have "Extras" ticked when I did this. I had the offset codes only and it showed VAS usage.
Pete Dowson Posted June 6, 2016 Report Posted June 6, 2016 Nevertheless, the correct way is by checking "extras". Having offsets monitored is a diagnostic facility and is not so efficient. Pete
