Fsuipc 4.962 will not register

I downloaded a clean fsx - steam in to my windows 10 system and tried to install Fsuipc 4.962. It installed ok but when I entered my register key nothing was in my fsx steam modules folder.

I discovered if I installed fsuipc 4 and did not register it and just clicked not now it was installed in the modules folder. I could also run fsx steam simulator and the addon for fsuipc was there.

When I again try to install and register fsuipc 4 with my key code it disappears from the modules folder and is not in Fsx steam when I run it.

Please advise.

Hi,

make sure you installed with the same privileges as FSX, i.e. as Administrator.

Also check in FSX Modules folder the FSUIPC4.log file, copy and paste its FULL content to your messge.

The Installer NEVER deletes anything. It only copies files in. so what you say is actually impossible. There's no code in it to delete files! So, I think you must be deleting files, or running something else entirely which does so!

All registration will do, if you enter all the correct details, is create a "KEY" file in your Modules folder containing the keys, which FSUIPC uses when loaded.

There's nothing using the registration details until FSUIPC is loaded. So it follows that there's nothing about registration which will stop it loading -- a bad registration will simply make it show as unregistered.

Yes I always install as Administrator. I have everything in my Modules folder when I install fsuipc4 and click "not now" when asked to register.  Fsuipc also appears in addons when I run fsx steam but when I run the installer again and this time click "register" checking my correct details from simmarket only the douments folder appears is in fsx steam modules folder which is also now empty. Everything else has disappeared from the fsx steam modules folder and also my addon fsuipc in fsx steam is no longer there.

Hi,

as the install log shows the installation is ok. Did you check the correct folder?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\Modules\FSUIPC4.DLL

When you register with the installer make sure you copy and paste your information rather than typing, give very often problems. Also all information has to be exactly is in your account at the time you bought the key!

Also check that not a virus checker by mistake removes anything.

You said this before and I told you that the Installer does not delete anything, so something else is doing it. As Thomas says, check that you are actually looking in the correct folder and also that you don't have a virus checker which for some reason doesn't like any normal files in that folder!
