FSUIPC4 4.968 New Release Audio Problem

Hello Pete,

I just installed FSUIPC4 4.968 released today, June 8, 2017, with my P3D v3 (latest version) and it crashes my PC's (Windows 10 OS) audio service -- so no sounds at all, not just in the sim.  I have to restart the computer to get it back.  Any suggestions...?

FSUIPC has nothing to do with sounds, unless you have some Lua plug-in or application which uses it for sounds. Check your add-ons and add-ins.

Is this your first use of FSUIPC?

I'm not a developer so not sure if my P3D3 add-ons might be trying to use FSUIPC for sounds.  The sounds were fine before adding FSUIPC to my update of P3D3.  My P3D v3 sim uses RealAir's Lancair Legacy V2 and FTN's GTN 750 avionics model.  I also have OrbX's FTX Global Base 140 and their FTX NA KSEZ 100 (Sedona Airport) scenery.  I was running FSUIPC4 version 4.960 before installing the 4.968 version after updating to the latest P3D3 version yesterday.  My basic home flight sim was just using FSUIPC to assign the trigger on my joystick to activate my headset's microphone for using PilotEdge's air traffic control services.

In order to remove FSUIPC, do I just remove the files from the P3D Modules folder and then have to reinstall the P3D client to get the .cfg files (or anything else) back to virgin state?

FSUIPC really just consists of the FSUIPC4.DLL which is in the Modules folder. If you remove that or just rename it it cannot run. You don't need to restore anything in P3D.

Okay, thanks.  I'll see if removing FSUIPC corrects this issues I'm having.

Something with my Win10 OS is still getting really messed up when I launch P3D3, after installing FSUIPC4 4.968, even after removing FSUIPC.  Sound doesn't work, can't open the Start menu, can't open the sound volume control panel.  Have to reboot to restore system.  Everything was working in the OS and sim until my FSUIPC update.  I did notice that Orbx uses Lua, saw the app in their folder.  Any suggestions on what I need to do to get back into the state before installing the FSUPIC update?

FSUIPC Installer does absolutely nothing else but install files in the Modules folder and add itself to the DLL.XML file so that P3D knows to load it.

So you have somethnig else going on there, maybe coincidentally around the same time. But sorry, it is NOT related to FSUIPC. I cannot help you with your problem.

If I were you I'd uninstall the sound scard and driver in the Windows Device Manager, and re-boot. If Windows doesn't re-install the drivers, get updates from the web and install them yourself.

Thanks Pete.  Yes, something must have happened around the same time as the FSUIPC update...  Strange how on launch of my P3Dv3 now the Windows Audio service is terminated.

Hi,

you said you updated as well at the same time to latest P3Dv3, that would be P3Dv3.4. Make sure you did read the LM info and have that correct installed?

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST HAVE MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK 4.6.2 INSTALLED TO UPDATE TO HOTFIX 3
