MDiMoS Posted September 23, 2017 Report Posted September 23, 2017 Dears, i understand this might not be the right place for my topic, i am just new here and facing a bug with addon called FsRaas20, I am using FSX steam Edition, having the latest FSUIPC4 installed, and FSRaas is connecting successfully, however whenever any voice notification is being played, i.e. On Taxi Way, the FSX just crashes just before the playback and throw me to desktop.....i searched allover the internet for any tips but failed. (View crash logs in Windows Event Viewer)? If that indicates FSUIPC4 then let me see the details. Also make sure you are using the latest version -- 4.971. I cannot support anything earlier. Probably you need to go to the FSRaas support forum, wherever that is. I'm pretty sure they have a web site. Pete

Can you find the WAV file and see if it plays when you double-click it? The sound devices FSUIPC found are listed in its FSUIPC4.INI file. Check that. Make sure it is defaulting to a working sound device. Pete

Pete Dowson Posted September 24, 2017 Report Posted September 24, 2017 43 minutes ago, MDiMoS said: is this the right FSUIPC4.ini file It's a correct file, but there's lots of it missing! It looks like it is corrupted. Typicallly, by default, the [General] section alone has 98 lines -- you have only 33 lines! And that includes the two logging ones which you presumably enabled in the Options screen. So just there are 2/3rds of the parameters missing. After the [General] section there'd be these sections before the [WideServer] section: [JoyNames], [Axes], possible [MacroFiles] and [LuaFiles], then [Buttons], [AutoSave], [GPSout], [GPSout2]. After the [WideServer] section there would be a [Sounds] section, listing the sound output facilities found. Here's mine, as an example: [Sounds] Path=E:\Prepar3D v3\Sound\ Device1=Primary Sound Driver Device2=Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Device3=DELL U3415W-4 (NVIDIA High Definition Audio) Device4=Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio) If what you show is really the INI you obtained from the FS Modules folder, next to FSUIPC4.LOG and FSUIPC4.DLL, then it must have been corrupted. Delete it and run FS again to generate a correct one. Pete
MDiMoS Posted September 24, 2017 Author Report Posted September 24, 2017 well, seems it doesn't seem to generate another one, may be because it unregistered version though? can i just take a copy form a complete one and paste it and try?

Thomas Richter Posted September 24, 2017 Report Posted September 24, 2017 Hi, just delete the existing FSUIPC4.ini file and start FS, then it will create a new one. Thomas
MDiMoS Posted September 25, 2017 Author Report Posted September 25, 2017 Hi, tried this 5 times and still generating similar incomplete FSUIPC4.ini Any thing can be done, can I create it manually?

I should have seen that in the Log you posted. Yes, that explains it. I just removed my .KEY file, to make FSUIPC4 appear unregistered, and tested exactly what FSRAAS20 is doing (except with a different WAV file, as I don't have that), and it worked fine. I tried both a WAV file which existed (thunder, as it happened), and that played okay, and one which doesn't exist, which just gave the approriate status back to the program. Without a sound card choice it will just use the default sound card (or motherboard option) set in Windows. So, sorry, I still think the crash is in the Windows sound system somewhere, either due to a bad sound driver or a corrupted WAV file. Pete
MDiMoS Posted September 25, 2017 Author Report Posted September 25, 2017 so do you think if i register, might solve the problem? i was planning to register any ways but was just trying the demo and how it will work, also started thinking of FS2crew paid Rass instead of the hassle i am facing best

As I said, I tested with it unregistered and using the exact commands via the offsets which were shown in your log (last few lines) -- excepting a different pathname for the WAV file -- worked fine. It is something else in your system. Sorry, I don't know what apart from the sound driver (BIOS and/or Windows) or WAVe file it could be. It just has to be one of those. Quote also started thinking of FS2crew paid Rass instead of the hassle i am facing Yes, I use FSCrew's RAAS Pro, and it is very good. I started with the freeware one, but the improvements are worth it. Pete
