deanpca Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 I have read many posts regarding installation issues with FSUIPC5 in P3D v4 and I tried everything I could find or think of, FSUIPC5 does not appear in the addon menu. In the FSUIPC5 Manual it states that the "addons" menu should be on the main menu bar on the far right. That is were it is located in P3Dv3. In my version of P3d v4 (4.1.7.22841) which I downloaded this weekend (01/14/2018) the "addons" are in a different location: "addons" is in the "Options" menu list below "Sounds" and above "General". You click the "addons" menu item and a new "addons" window opens. Presumably FSUIPC5 should show up in this window, right? Nothing. The install seems to complete successfully and I see no obvious errors in the install log. Similarly, the "FSUIPC5.log" looks ok to me. FSUIPC5 appears to be loading and doing things as expected. Based on everything that I have read the dll.xml file looks normal. Has LM moved the "Addons" menu to a new location and that is why I am not seeing it? Thanks, Dean Perry DLL.XML FSUIPC5 Install.log FSUIPC5.ini FSUIPC5.log
Thomas Richter Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Hi, files are looking ok to me either, Quote 281 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay 281 Opened separate AI Traffic client okay 1859 Running in "Lockheed Martin® Prepar3D® v4", Version: 4.1.7.22841 (SimConnect: 4.1.0.0) 1859 Initialising SimConnect data requests now 1859 FSUIPC Menu entry added and as the log states it opens successfully SimConnect and added the Menu. 6 hours ago, deanpca said: Has LM moved the "Addons" menu to a new location and that is why I am not seeing it? No, the Add-ons menu where FSUIPC is located is still in the main menu bar to the right. Thomas
deanpca Posted January 18, 2018 Author Report Posted January 18, 2018 Thomas, it sounds like we are agreed that FSUIPC is installed correctly and appears to be functioning. You say "No, the Add-ons menu where FSUIPC is located is still in the main menu bar to the right." Please look at the uploaded image, this image shows the full menu with the "Options" dropdown. You can see that there is no "addons" menu item on the right side of the menu bar, correct? Do you see the "Addons" item in the "Options" dropdown? I know, it is a bit hard to read, I lost a lot of resolution trying to make it small enough to upload. The "addon" item is just below "Sound" and above "General". This is a brand new download of P3Dv4, from last Sunday 01/14/2018. It is a fresh unmodified install. Are you saying that the "addons" menu in my new install is in the wrong location? As I said before, the "Addons" menu is not on the main menu bar. Apparently in this latest release that menu has been moved, agree? So would that be why I am not seeing FSUIPC in my P3Dv4 install? As I stated before, when I click the "Addons" item from the "Options" dropdown, there is no FSUIPC listed. We are agreed that FSUIPC appears to be installed correctly and functioning correctly according to the information in the logs, right? So were is the FSUIPC interface? Where do I go to access the control features of FSUIPC?

As I stated before, when I click the "Addons" item from the "Options" dropdown, there is no FSUIPC listed. Something is wrong with the P3D4 installation. The AddOns menu we are talking about is always in the main menu bar, and it would be the right-most. As Thomas pointed out, the log clearly shows that FSUIPC did add it. The rest is up completely to SimConnect. I am using P3D 4.1.7 Pro and it is fine on both Win7 and Win10. You could try enabling SimConnect logging (see the FAW subforum for details), and see if SimConnect is logging any sort of error there. This might also show whether other add-ons are loading and causing some sort of SimConnect conflict. Otherwise, I fear it is either a matter or doing a completely clean re-install of P3D, and/or reporting this to L-M. But what sort of conflict can be unique to just your system I can't fathom. Pete
