Liam Perry Posted February 7, 2021 Report Share Posted February 7, 2021 Many thanks for FSUIPC6, which I know is potentially a great utility. However, I am using it with the latest P3D V5.1 upgrade and FSLabs A320. I have plugged in 2 Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs as extra buttons. I am familiar with the buttons macro process and have repeated it a number of times. I can go through the complete process and have all the buttons working. But when I come back into P3D and the FSLabs A320 only some of the buttons on the MFDs are working. If I enter the FSUIPC add on, go to the Buttons & Switches tab and select Profile Specific (Macro file named "FSLabs A320"), and press all the buttons on the 2 MFDs, the button control selections I made in the macros are there, but some don't work when I go back into the sim. John Dowson Posted February 8, 2021 Report Share Posted February 8, 2021 Can you activate logging for Buttons & Switches and Events, and produce a short log file with your aircraft loaded, press the button assigned to the macro then exit, and attach the log file together with your ini file and I'll take a look. Using the Specific to Aircraft Macro entitled “FSLabs A320” Example of working buttons: Using my MFD 1: I pressed up on the top LH rocker switch, here in the on-screen console log “Joy=4, btn=26” called “FSLabs A320:Nav Up” in the macro. The result is that the Nav rotary switch on the captain’s EFI panel rotates to the right as requested. I then pressed down on the top LH rocker switch, here in the on-screen console log “Joy=4, btn=27” Called “FSLabs A320:Nav Switch Down” in the macro. The result is that the Nav rotary switch on the captain’s EFI panel rotates to the left as requested. I then pressed the top push button second from the left, here in the on-screen console log “Joy=4, btn=1” Called “FSLabs A320: Cpt Wpt” in the macro. The result is that the Captain’s Wpt button is pressed on his EFIS panel as requested. Examples of failing buttons: Using my MFD 2: I then pressed the top push button second from the left, here in the on-screen console log “Joy=1, btn=17” Called “FSLabs A320: Spd Mach” in the macro. The result is that the Spd Mach button fails to be pressed on the Autopilot FCU panel. I then pressed up on the top LH rocker switch, here in the on-screen console log “Joy=1, btn=26” called “FSLabs A320:Spd Up” in the macro. The result is that the Speed rotary switch on the Autopilot FCU panel fails to rotate to the right. I then pressed up on the top LH rocker switch, here in the on-screen console log “Joy=1, btn=27” called “FSLabs A320:Spd Down” in the macro. Can you redo the macros that are failing. Maybe just create a separate new macro file for those that are failing and verify that the rectangle ids are the same. If not, update your existing script with the correct rectangle ids. If the rectangle ids are correct, you need to contact FSLabs support to determine why they are returning an error. I hope you and all remain safe there in Spain along with my folks who are out there in the Alicante area. Funnily enough I have just had a dialogue box pop up while unsuccessfully trying to get a Logitech radio panel to work with P3Dv5 straight out of the box, long story and now in the "Time zone". However, the dialogue said in effect that it had detected 2 separate conflicting installations of FSUIPC6. I obviously cannot show you a picture of my Prepared3d v5 Addons folder but I have a large set of FSUIPC files in that folder along with the SDK and Utils folders. However, I have also spotted another FSUIPC6 folder with a smaller number of files (add-on.xml, FSUIPC6.ini, FSUIPC6.JoyScan.csv, FSUIPC6.log) and another set of SDK and Utils folders. This FSUIPC6 folder does not hold the main macro, ini and log files. Before I launch into your suggested action, which I will happily repeat, should I first delete the latter FSUIPC6 folder and try again??? John Dowson Posted February 10, 2021 Report Share Posted February 10, 2021 If there's an FSUIPC6.log and .ini file there, it must have been ran at some point. Yes, I would remove them, but they shouldn't cause an issue unless that dll is loaded before the one in your main installation. If P3D tries to load a second dll, you will get an error an it won't load. Not sure how you ended up with two installations, unless one is from a very early version when the installer didn't have the uninstall capabilities... Note that, from your log files, FSUIPC6 is installed in the following folder: D:\Users\liamp\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\ That is the default installation location, and is where the add-on.xml file has to go. You should really install in a different folder (e.g. c:\FSUIPC6 or c:\P3D Add-ons\FSUIPC6). Note that you can always determine the installation folder of the current running version by using the Open Folder button in the logging tab. So, to clean things up a bit, you should manually remove the second (unused) installation, then re-run the installer and install FSUIPC6 in a different location, outside of your documents folder and preferably outside of the P3D main folder (and not in a windows Programs folder!). Then you will need to copy across any lua, macro, dll, etc files that you use, as well as your FSUIPC6.ini file, to the new location. But your problem with the mouse action failure will remain.
