Kevin Conlon Posted April 23, 2021 Report Posted April 23, 2021 I am trying to configure my GF devices using FSUIPC. I have the latest (non-beta) release 6.1.0 and have tried placing GFDev64.dll in Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC6 folder and Prepar3D v5\Modules with no luck. When I press a button or flip a switch I am not seeing any change on the Button tab within the application. I have run the HID scanner in the Utils directory and all of my GF devices appear (I am currently using 10). What am I missing? HidScanner.log

The GFDev64.dllv should be placed in your FSUIPC6 installation folder, wherever that is. If you don't Know, you can open that folder using the Open Folder button in the logging tab. Check (or post) your FSUIPC6.log file - there will be a message in that file if the GF dll is found and loaded, and show the devices detected, e.g here's mine: Quote 110156 -------------------- Starting everything now ---------------------- 110203 Using "D:\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC6\GFDEV64.DLL", version 2.2.8.0 110203 GoFlight GFP8 detected: 2 devices 110203 GoFlight GFT8 detected: 2 devices 110203 GoFlight GFRP48 detected: 2 devices
Kevin Conlon Posted April 23, 2021 Author Report Posted April 23, 2021 Thanks John. I found another thread listing a new fsuipc6.dll (6.0.14) and pasted that DLL into the module folder, rebooted and the devices now show up. I appreciate your help!

But that is now an old and unsupported version. You should use 6.1.0 (or 6.1.1a), which are the latest supported versions. There is no change to GF handling in these versions from 6.0.14.

Arndt777 Posted April 28, 2021 Report Posted April 28, 2021 I had re-installed P3Dv5.1 (newest version) and updated to FSUIPC 6.1.0. The recognition of axes and their calibration is working fine. But I don't have any success with buttons and switches (from Saitek Throttle Quadrants, GoFlight modules, buttons of my Brunner yoke). When opening the buttons & switches page, there is yoke # 1, button # 6 displayed. When I press any other button or switch, there is no reaction. So I cannot program them. I enclose the log file. You can try the IngnoreThese ini parameter, from the Advanced User Guide: Quote IgnoreThese: This can be used to list a number of buttons which are to be ignored by FSUIPC in the Buttons & Switches tab. This is to deal with faulty button signals which are repeating without control and thus preventing the others from being registered on the screen ready to program. The parameter takes this form: IgnoreThese= j.b, j.b, ... listing the joystick number (j) and button number (b) of each button to be ignored. To make it easy, you can edit the INI file whilst in the Button assignments dialogue and simply press “reload all buttons” to activate the changes. Note that the action of ignoring buttons only applies to those numbered 0–31 on each possible joystick (not any “POV” hats), and they are only ignored in the dialogue—if they are already assigned the assignment will still be effective. This parameter can also be used in the [Axes] section of the FSUIPC6.INI, using the axes letter instead of the button number (see later).

At the end it was not a faulty button, but one of the Saitek Throttle Quadrants was not properly connected to an USB hub. After connecting in a right way, there is no problem anymore.
