Event luas no longer work

Hi John,

In 7.2.15 and 7.2.16 my event luas no longer work.

For my GoFlight stuff I use two luas, one for the radio (GF-166) with which the buttons, rotaries, leds and displays are programmed, and one for the other leds and displays (GF_Leds_Displays). The buttons of the latter are set via the FSUIPC menu and that works correctly. For the log file I pressed two buttons: toggle pitot heat (menu) and frequency swap (lua). In 7.2.14 everything works correctly. Did I miss something when upgrading?

Thanks!

Frans

Are you sure you had an aircraft loaded and were in the ready-to-fly state?

Your log shows the lua's were killed as you were  (most probably) in the main menu:

Quote

   101812 Lua threads being terminated:
   101812       1 = "E:\Prog\FSUIPC7\LuaFiles\GF_166.lua"
   102000 LUA: "E:\Prog\FSUIPC7\LuaFiles\GF_166.lua": killed
   102000       2 = "E:\Prog\FSUIPC7\LuaFiles\GF_Leds_Displays.lua"
   102187 LUA: "E:\Prog\FSUIPC7\LuaFiles\GF_Leds_Displays.lua": killed
121797 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 95 secs = 118.4 fps
   121797 -------------------------------------------------------------------

If this is not the case, something is triggering the lua threads to be terminated.

Hi John,

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes, plane on the runway ready-to fly, waited about 1 minute, then pressed the two buttons and closed the sim.

Do the changes in 7.2.15 and 7.2.16 affect the behavior of events in lua-threads? I'm asking because I see this in the log:

      250 LuaFiles from: "E:\Prog\FSUIPC7\LuaFiles\"
      266 *** Cannot find preset file: 'E:\Prog\FSUIPC7\myevents.txt'

You can safely ignore that message - it is related to the new preset mechanism (see Advanced user guide).

The problem seems to be due to changes I made in 7.2.15 related to starting luas after lvar/hvar lists have been received from the WASM. Looks like I forgot to test without the using the WASM, as luas are no longer started when not using the WASM.

I will take a look and fix this in the next release. However, in the mean-time, to get your luas working again you will need to activate the WASM, using the Add-ons->WASM->Enable menu entry. You don't need to use the WASM, but it must be installed and enabled.

Sorry about this.

Hi John,

the WASM enabled and everything works again, so take your time for the fix. Thank you for your great support.

A happy FSUIPC 4,5,6,7, ? -user! Have a nice weekend!

Frans

Edit: I see there is already a new version, I will try them right away, thanks again!
