Fiorentoni Posted May 7, 2023 Report Posted May 7, 2023 Does MakeRwys read airline gate assignments from the .bgls? I imported some bigger airports (3rd party, definitely have gate assignments set) for testing into P2ATC, and while everything else was imported correctly, airline gate assignments were not.

Airlines are listed at the end of each Gate entry in the G5.CSV file. Default airports don't have any, and nor do all add-on airports. You can look at that file in any text editor to check. I don't think Pilot2ATC uses this information however. Best to ask Dave on the P2A support forum. Pete

Best to ask Dave on the P2A support forum. Pete It doesn't seem to work (latest version 5.13). I am absolutely positive that many of my airports have airline codes assigned in the .bgl, I even double checked in the sim (e.g. FlyTampa KBOS or Aerosofts EDDB). Still none of these airline codes get read by MakeRwys, the g5.csv has no airline assignments at all, nowhere. Can you check if it works for you? EDIT: And just for context - the rest of the data gets read correctly, taxiways, runways, gates etc. Here's a snippet of what the runway.txt says for KBOS, as you can see Airlines is empty, even though it's clearly assigned in the .bgl: Gate A9 [#G35]: N42:21:48.0075 W071:01:16.3371 Type 9 (Medium Gate), Size 20.0m, Hdg 16.8T Airlines: Gate A10 [#G36]: N42:21:48.3314 W071:01:14.6829 Type 8 (Small Gate), Size 15.1m, Hdg 3.7T Airlines: Gate A11 [#G37]: N42:21:49.7892 W071:01:13.2698 Type 8 (Small Gate), Size 15.1m, Hdg 306.2T Airlines: Edited May 8, 2023 by Fiorentoni

I don't have a KBOS add-on airport, but it certainly works for all my add-on European airports. For example, here's an extract from G5.CSV for my P3D Justsim Brussels (EBBR): EBBR,R,149,50.902452,4.484660,21.0,335.4,8,,BRU EBBR,R,153,50.902775,4.485776,21.0,335.4,8,,BRU EBBR,R,157,50.903101,4.486890,21.0,335.4,8,,SAS,GWI,AUA,DLH EBBR,R,165,50.903815,4.489376,21.0,335.4,8,,SAS,GWI,AUA,DLH EBBR,R,169,50.904106,4.490519,21.0,335.4,8,,SAS,GWI,AUA,DLH EBBR,R,205,50.899189,4.486295,21.0,335.4,8,,ICE,TUI EBBR,R,211,50.899644,4.487884,21.0,335.4,8,,ICE,TUI EBBR,R,217,50.899947,4.488936,21.0,335.4,8,,ICE,TUI Not that I think the BGL format has changed in this regard, but I belatedly noticed you are talking about MSFS, not FSX or P3D. I've never had any add-on airports for MSFS so I'm not aware of any changes made in this area. I'm afraid I am unable to undertake any more development of MakeRwys, whether for P3D or MSFS. I am now fully retired. But if you are a C/C++ programmer and are able to delve into MSFS scenery file formats, I expect we could arrange for you to adapt it yourself -- provided the results remained freeware. Note that I still don't think Pilot2ATC uses this information in any case. Pete
John Dowson Posted May 8, 2023 Report Posted May 8, 2023 As it says on the download page (on SimFlight) for MakeRunways: Quote Note that MakeRunways is now closed for further development, as Peter Dowson, the original author of this product, has now retired. However, you can download the source and update for your own needs. The source code for this utility is available on GitHub at the following location: https://github.com/jldowson/MakeRunways/. If you would like to take over development and support of this product, please PM me (John Dowson). Looks like I still need to update fsuipc.com with this information though... John
