  1. Here is a screenshot of a FSNav plan from PANC to PAVD. It is one of the better jobs FSNav has done. I was impressed. In a 737, it actually went over the mountain tops, came down back over the airport somewhat, made a right turn to final and at almost the last minute lined up with the runway which in the sim, is pretty close to the mountain side. The plane was a litle high on final, but not much. I just let it run it's course to see what it would do, but, don't always trust it.

  2. I installed the new version and ran a fast test and it seems so far to work. I went to CYZF loaded FSrealtime. Connected. update once, then disconnected and minimized the program to task bar. Time will tell. If you have it update for whatever time, mintes scheduled etc., I think it will go through the process of scenery, textures etc, and that's what we don't want. Update it once and then disconnect and see if that works for you. So far so good. :)

  3. I have had the time, scenery reload etc, for years now, and it seems to be only in the northern regions. Alaska is where I first noticed it, Anchorage to Valdez. And if you did a return trip it would do it again in reverse, but not always in the same location. While on a world tour, I also noticed it around the Ukraine and India, and again from Seattle to Yellowknife Canada. It's a PIA, and after hours of testing, I don't believe it's time zone related. Some peole have the problem, most do not. There is a download called REALTIME, and I ran that some time back a couple times and it seemed to fix the problem without having to run it again, until, I updated my pc a little with fresh intalls and the problem came back. I also heard that with the RealTime download the green banner would flash in your sim with commercials, I did not have that problem.

So. my conclusion is that it's an FS9 BUG.

EDIT: At Avsim, paste in this name under AUTHOR:

    Joshua Robertson.

You will find two later versions than the one I have for Realtime.

Or, go here where you can read fully on the program and download it.

  4. I will assume that the problem was not there before with the PAKT airport scenery. Here is a screenshot of mine.

    20keqvo.jpg

I'm wondering if the exclude files are in your download. If they are, I would reinstall the PAKT scenery and see what happens.

There was some posting not too long ago about making a NEW PAKT. I still think about it at times but do not mention it because I know the people involved are busy. ( BC H )

  5. Hang in there for a few. There is probably a way to get those back without reinstalling FS9, like deleting the FS9. cfg and letting it regenerate itself, BUT, DO NOT DO THAT!!!!!

Someone will come along with the correct answer.

When FS9 rebuilds itself, everything goes back to default settings etc.

You may just have to insert one of the FS9 discs to get those files. I have just seen this in writing, other than rebuilding FS9 cfg, I have not done anything else. Kind of rambling here.

Standby Steve. Someone will be along. :)

  6. Well Steve, in the README, it says>>

Look for, and remove, scenery BGL's called trees_0.bgl and/or trees_02.bgl

    Then it says>>>>

Then look for texture files called tree_*.bmp and conifer_*.bmp in all

..\texture folders. If, and only if, the names are in the following list of

65 textures, delete them, but be careful NOT to delete any textures with

similar names, but not actually in this list :-

    - conifer_broad.bmp conifer_broad_hw.bmp

    - conifer_canopy.bmp conifer_canopy_hw.bmp

    - conifer_column.bmp conifer_column_hw.bmp

    - conifer_conic.bmp conifer_conic_hw.bmp

    - conifer_irreg.bmp conifer_irreg_hw.bmp

    - conifer_oval.bmp conifer_oval_hw.bmp

    - conifer_round.bmp conifer_round_hw.bmp

    - conifer_vase.bmp conifer_vase_hw.bmp

    - conifer_weep.bmp conifer_weep_hw.bmp

    - tree_broad.bmp tree_broad_fa.bmp tree_broad_hw.bmp

    tree_broad_sp.bmp tree_broad_wi.bmp

    - tree_canopy.bmp tree_canopy_fa.bmp tree_canopy_hw.bmp

    tree_canopy_sp.bmp tree_canopy_wi.bmp

    - tree_column.bmp tree_column_fa.bmp tree_column_hw.bmp

    tree_column_sp.bmp tree_column_wi.bmp

    - tree_conic.bmp tree_conic_fa.bmp tree_conic_hw.bmp

    tree_conic_sp.bmp tree_conic_wi.bmp

    - tree_irreg.bmp tree_irreg_fa.bmp tree_irreg_hw.bmp

    tree_irreg_sp.bmp tree_irreg_wi.bmp

    - tree_oval.bmp tree_oval_fa.bmp tree_oval_hw.bmp

    tree_oval_sp.bmp tree_oval_wi.bmp

    - tree_palmate.bmp tree_pinnate.bmp

    - tree_round.bmp tree_round_fa.bmp tree_round_hw.bmp

    tree_round_sp.bmp tree_round_wi.bmp

    - tree_vase.bmp tree_vase_fa.bmp tree_vase_hw.bmp

    tree_vase_sp.bmp tree_vase_wi.bmp

    - tree_weep.bmp tree_weep_fa.bmp tree_weep_hw.bmp

    tree_weep_sp.bmp tree_weep_wi.bmp

    Then it says>>

Unzip the contents of the file SCENERY.ZIP into your main \scenery

folder. This installs a single file called trees_0.bgl that contains all

the tree objects. The same file works correctly with either FS2000 or

    FS2002. OR FS9<<< I added that.

    Then it says>>

if you are using FS2002 unzip FS2002.ZIP

instead and put its contents in the main \texture folder. Either

will install the 65 tree_*.bmp and conifer_*.bmp files. The FS2000 versions

can actually be used with either Flight Simulator version, whereas the

improved FS2002 versions use the DirectX compressed DXT1 format and are not

compatible with the older FS2000. Incidentally, the newer textures not

only look better, they should also give a small improvement in frame rates.

If you have both 2000 and 2002, use 2002 files. Personally, I always make a temporary folder and manually put them in.

It's kind of time consuming looking for those files and deleting them if you find them. The first time I installed them, I had to double check myself. Some of the file names are very close and look alike. Doubel check yourself. You should make a backup folder of that folder and save it outside of FS9. Just in case.

  7. For item #3

    http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=51063

On starting engines, make sure the two toggle switches on either side of the start switches are in the UP position.

I have always found if you use CTRL E to start engines, you have to synchronize the throttles by keystroke E, then 1 and 2 quickly.

I haven't used the speed brake, so I'm not sure on that one or the other problem with the , was it the GPS, I don't remember now, and I can't see the post while replying.

  8. I had the same problem using auto pilot. Then I flew it manually and got her to get up to speed. It does seem a little off though for a jet. At altitude on auto pilot, it seems to take awhile to get to 300KIAS. I wonder if someone could look into the flight dynamics if they haven't already  Seems to need a little tweaking. :)

  9. Thanks Heli, but I cannot find that file download at Avsim. I searched high and low. I did not look under utilities though.

It would be nice to have a program that would change the TMVL while the sim is running because there are a lot of sceneries now that are either 19, 20, or 21, and close to each other geographically speaking. I do not know if this is possible.

    Have a good day. :)
