FSUIPC 3.93 is now very old. The earliest supported release is 3.999w. You didn't read my previous reply? Keypresses aren't used by this facility. It uses Windows messages. Please update your FSUIPC. That has got to be the first step. However, I must point out that this facility has been working fine for SB3 since version 3.50 of FSUIPC, in August 2005, as described in the FSUIPC History document thus: So you are doing something wrong. Perhaps you need to show me your FSUIPC.INI file. But first, test with a supported version of FSUIPC please! Oh, check that your SB3 id up to date too -- at least up to date in 2005 terms! Pete

You go into some detail, but omit some essentail information. Are you using WideFS? Are you using FS9 or FSX? What is the version number of the FSUIPC you are using? There is nowhere to check something called "Control send when button released". If you mean "Control to repeat when held", then certainly to do NOT want to check that! You just want "PTT Transmit On" when you press and "PTT Transmit Off" when you release. If it is repeating all the time you hold it it is probably jamming up SB3's operation. No, the facility in FSUIPC/WideFS works automatically usding Windows messages: It doesn't use keypresses at all. Regards Pete

FSUIPC only sends axis controls when the input changes. And as far as I know, so does FS. However, FSUIPC only acts on changes greater than the "Delta" value -- you can see this in the Axis assignments tab. This makes it much more efficient and smoother since changes smaller than a certain amount have little or no actual effect in FS in any case, and it removes unwanted jitter which some hardware inputs are prone to. You could edit the INI file Axis assignment and change the Delta from its default (256) to 1, say, but I would really doubt that your helicopter is reliant so much on using a jittering control. I think something else must be going wrong with it. Maybe it requires a different control. How are you assigning the Axis -- in FSUIPC? If in FSUIPC, using which method? Direct to FSUIPC calibration, or to an FS control. If to an FS control, which one? And how are you calibrating? In the single throttle part or the 4 throttle part, and with Reverse Zone or not? Oh, and which exact version number of FSUIPC? If it is earlier than 4.853 please update first. Two points there: First, you should know that you can do different things for different aircraft -- via Profiles (or the older aircraft-specific facilities if preferred). So you can assign differently as well as calibrate differently for different aircraft or different aircraft types. It would be quite normal to use an entirely different set of controls for a helicopter as opposed to a turbo-prop. Second, since this peculiarity is specific to that one make of helicopter, I think you should be seeking advice on their support forum. They will know better what might be going on than I. There is no way i can obtain, test, and support all the possible add-ons to which folks apply FSUIPC. Regards Pete

Can we commission an interface?
Pete Dowson replied to egoaeroplanes's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
MGL? don't know that acronym I'm afraid. Sorry, no. I certainly don't wish to get involved with X-Plane at al, and in any case these days I'm really trying to get less work, not more! You might want to talk to the author of the X-Plane equivalent to FSUIPC (XPUIPC), http://www.tosi-onli...PUIPC/Home.html. Regards Pete -
Doesn't look like it to me, just a free user contribution of a Lua program to provide an interface to a commercial program. Probably it should be in the User Contributions subforum, like the Lua additions for other commercial programs like PMDG and iFly aircraft. I had a look at Foreflight Mobile, which is okay for USA fliers, maybe Canada as well, but provides virtually nothing for the rest of the world. And requiring a regular subscription is a bit of a killer. I expect it appeals to real GA pilots in the USA. Regards Pete

The log shows FSUIPC is fine. I'm afraid i don't knowe how that "FSflightmax" program makes its WX radar work. If it reads the weather data through FSUIPC it wouldn't make any difference where the weather came from. Note that WX Radar programs from RealityXP do not use FSUIPC at all. The only WX Radar program I know which uses FSUIPC for the weather is SA_WXR. Well, referring to one of the messages there I see this: "You can get the radar to work with FSMeteo or Active Sky, there is also a freeware program that will convert Metar files downloaded from the government site to the proper type file" which implies to me that FSflightmax does NOT read weather from FSUIPC, but from files produced or used by those programs. So I think trying to "fix" it with FSUIPC isn't likely to work. Don't worry about that. Using Freeware with FSUIPC has never been an issue. The only thing I was concerned about in your earlier message was this "KeyGen" program which sounded like an FSUIPC key generator, which certainly would be illegal. Only the official suppliers of FSUIPC and WideFS are permitted to make keys and they of course use an official program (not called KeyGen BTW). Regards Pete

You'll need to raise a Problem Ticket with SimMarket and tell them it was a genuine mistake. I'm not able to do anything from my end. I just do programming and technical support. Regards Pete

Sounds like you are using a very old version of FSUIPC, as all versions over the past year or two have been installed with an installer which will accept different emails for FSUIPC and WideFS. Your name must be exactly the same, that's all. The earliest supported version of FSUIPC3 is 3.999w. There's also an update (3.999x) in the Download Links subforum, but you must use the 3.999w installer to Register. Pete

Depends what that "keygen" program is! It certainly doesn't sound legit to me! No application requires a key, not for nearly six years. That's all gone years ago, as I said. If it uses FSUIPC it will work okay with any recent version of FSUIPC. Just make sure that is up to date -- the current Installer for FSUIPC3 installs FSUIPC 3.999w, and there's a version 3.999x available in the Download Links subforum. If it still doesn't work, it isn't anything to do with its key (which isn't needed), but it might be related to your user key if that's not valud for any reason. In that case, shut down FS and show me the FSUIPC log file. Don't post any keys here, mind. Pete

Lost FSUIPC and ACCUFEEL from Addons!

Lost FSUIPC and ACCUFEEL from Addons!
Pete Dowson replied to wingclip's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Sounds like another one of those add-ons which makes a mess of the DLL.XML file. Try just re-running the FSUIPC4 installer, and maybe also the Accu-Feel install. That should repair the DL.XML if possible. If not, then either delete the DLL.XML file and reinstall those again, or copy it into a message here (it's just a text file). you'll find it in the same folder as your FSX.CFG file. If you can't find that, show me the FSUIPC4 Install log which you will finf in the Modules folder ad I'll be able to tell you exactly. No! I doubt that yor FSX is screwed up. It's one one diddy file, the DLL.XML, which tells SimConnect what add-ons to load. Pete -
What is this about? Do you realise you are adding to a SEVEN year old thread? What is FSflightMax? It is all but forgotten. What is AOG WX? Reality XP's stuff has nothing to do with anything in FSUIPC. There are no application keys any more, not for at least 6 years! And KEYGEN sounds very suspiciously like an illegal pirate key generator. Shall I revoke your registrations? It sounds very suspicious. Pete

Discover inputs in FSUIPC
Pete Dowson replied to Adinis's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Sorry, I've no idea what they mean. I don't know "Airsimtech", and offset 4602 is allocated to the Canadair RJ-700 Project, whilst 4850 is part of Steffen Herberg's EPIC project. I can only suggest you use the "AirSimtech" support. Regards Pete -
You posted the same message twice in the space of 4 minutes. Please don't. I get to them as i can. I'm not an expert on the aurcraft innards, but I don't think so. I don't think there's anything writeable -- most of the vlaues relating to power and thrust are derived values, not inputs. You'd probably need to switch the autothrottle off and simulate whatever it would do in those circumstances. Maybe Herve Sors can help you. Try over in the AVSIM aircraft design forum. You questions really defeat my knowlege of the sim's innards. Regards Pete

Strange behaviour with PMDG B737 NGX
Pete Dowson replied to Don Houtman's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Well, it sounds like your control device(s) are going to sleep. All reloading the buttons or calibrations or axis assignments will do, apart from loading any changes you made in the INI file by editing, is force a re-scan of devices which will wake them up. Turn off all power management for every USB hub device listed in Windows device manager. Windows turns it on by default these days. Very annoying. Pete -
Potentiometer 737NGX
Pete Dowson replied to Gabriel Gbz's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
For the controls you only need to refer to the control list at the end of the .h file they provide. Each control has a number. You can assign that number as a "custom control" in FSUIPC assignments -- after you've updated your FSUIPC. 4.70 is too old and did not have the "custom control" facility.. No programming needed. Strange behaviour with PMDG B737 NGX
Pete Dowson replied to Don Houtman's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Sorry, no. I don't know that message you get at all, so I suggested the only way I thought it might arise. And I do know that almost all systems in the PMDG 737NGX are programmed externally to FS, whereas FSUIPC is an interface into FS internals, not add-on internals. There are lots of successful users of the 737NGX and I am sure your issues must be relatively trivial, but i'm not sure how I can answer them myself. There may be other visitors to this Forum who can help -- see the really comprehensive contributions for this aircraft in the "User Contributions" subforum for example. And you also mention AofA, whose 737NGX course i also subscribe. I'm sure they fly their 737NGX okay? Whilst i appreciate their in-depth 737NG training, I don't use the PMDG aircraft and its cockpit because I have a hardware 737NG cockpit and switches and gauges supported via software such as Project Magenta. The FSX 737NG model I use has no cockpit at all, it would conflict. If you are thinking it may be some bad FSUIPC settings you have made, let me see your FSUIPC4.INI file (from the FSX Modules folder) and I will look through it for anything obviously odd. Or simply rename it and start from scratch with your assignments just in case. That's a good idea in any case. Regards Pete -
Strange behaviour with PMDG B737 NGX
Pete Dowson replied to Don Houtman's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
The PMDG 737NGX SDK lists all of the controls for the complete cockpit, and they can all be assigned in FSUIPC if you have a recent version (earliest supported release is 4.853). What program gives such a warning? Do you have FS's ttips enabled? I wouldn't if i were you. FS itself would simply be checking for assignments in its own assignments system. You are most likely not using the correct control assignments for the 737NGX. The speed problem sounds like you have the spoilers enabled. But these questions are best directed to other 737NGX users in their Forum. I don't actually use it at all, and can only answer questions related to FSUIPC and my other modules. Regards Pete -
It works fine for the vast majority of users, especially those who follow the instructions. For the others I try my utmost to help, and if there are bugs to fix I do so faster than anyone else in the business. But I need information, so I ask questions. I don't need you coming here just to be insulting, especially if you still expect to get any help. Pete

Potentiometer 737NGX
Pete Dowson replied to Gabriel Gbz's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
There is an SDK provided with the latest update for the PMDG 737NGX which details all the commands you can use. no need to use mouse macros at all! Version 4.70 is very old and has not been supported for a long time! Furthermore the 737NGX facilities did not even exist then! Please update (no earlier than 4.853 is supported), and refer to the PMDG 737NGX SDK for details of all their commands. Regards Pete- 8 replies

As it says on the download site, that it just the DLL itself which goes into the Modules folder! No "install" needed! Did you not read the rest of my original reply? I'm afraid I'm out now till very late tonight or more likely tomorrow. This is going to take a long time with such tiny steps! Pete

Yes. Sorry. Typo now corrected. There's also a version 4.859 now available in the Download Links subforum. Pete
